Which other clubs have changed their colour in recent times?

Tue May 08, 2012 6:30 pm

Regardless of whether this is a good idea or not, can anyone think of any other clubs that have drastically changed their main colour/badge/etc fairly recently?

Can only really think of MK Dons.

Meadowbank Thistle were franchised in the 90's but the clolours and badge reamined the same, just the badge reworded.

Arsenal did a few seasons back, but that was to celebrate their centenary or the last year at Highbury I think?

Apart from that I can't think of any.

Badges change all the time.

Palace, Watford, Coventry all changed their colours in the past.

I think Partick Thistle have changed their badge twice in the last 20-25 years.

To be honest, Arsenal only changed to a darker shade of red; burgundy. So not a massive change, but I get what you mean.

It was also a temporary, one season deal, to celebrate the end of Highbury.

I'm grasping at straws, I know.

We have had a many incarnations of the badge... but it must fundamentally stay as the bluebird.

The colour I care less about, I thought a white away kit was scumming it though......

I think centenary shirts / one off years are a little different. I quite like the idea of going back to an old style shirt/badge etc.

It's not quite the same as what is allegedly being proposed to do with our kit/badge though.

Yes it was - something like 68 for Coventry. Strange because I've always thought of them as SKyBlues.

I'm not keen myself, and don't think it'll last long even if it does happen.

Better off spending the money on some decent squad strengthening.

It doesn't matter what clour the side plays in the better players will end up on top.
