BBC now reporting on re-branding proposals

Tue May 08, 2012 2:51 pm

Interesting that they say club sources deny we will be changing our name; nickname; and badge - only a colour alteration to red. We'll soon learn of the truth, but BBC are much more of a reputable source.

I work in media mate and basically this article came about in the following way...

A Media Wales / BBC journalist is probably sat bored at his desk and one of his areas of correspondence is Welsh football or the Championship, he's got google alerts setup for "Cardiff City" and has been notified of significant amounts on content going onto the CCMB forum and this one over the last 24 hours talking about a rebrand.

As a result, he's written an article summarising what everyone is saying and contacted the club for comment. He probably only managed to speak to a receptionist, who has probably been advised by the club to deny everything.

Absolutely no substance in that article mate, anyone on here could've written it!

All jokes aside this does sicken me, i'm uncomfortable with the idea.

We are the bluebirds, not the red dragons. Color change is only the start of it and Jim ain't here to fix it no more. :old:

I have been a bluebird since 1948, but these changes are going to anger me to the core. Wayne Nash I'm coming for your ivory tower sunshine :old:

I have not heard about any name change, just colour and badge/Bluebirds, but the name Cardiff City to remain.

One question Annis - Do you feel the Malaysians ever got to know the true nature and spirit of our club? They needed to spend more time with the fans :old:

What about TG? Julian Jenkins? Surely they're not going along with this? I'd have thought TG would be dead against it. He seems to understand a lot more about football than Vincent Tan!

bbc sport have now heard the news

why cant they just leave everything as it is, in terms of our colour, badge, name, etc...

If they want success, then its not going to happen with changing things like that. Success is generated on the pitch not by the colour shirt a team wears, or what is shown on the badge!

All this will cost a hell of a lot of money, and it really fucks me off when they are planning all this straight after being knocked out of the playoffs, when priority for a FOOTBALL CLUB is PLAYERS, not replacing blue seats with red seats!

I HONESTLY HOPE ITS ALL A RUMOUR! :ayatollah:
