West Ham my Day report 07/05/12
Tue May 08, 2012 1:18 pm
Two thousand Bluebirds made the trip to East London knowing deep down we wasn't going to Wembley as West Ham was far superior in every department. Malky has done a stern Job but as Cardiffcity Culture said where is the team that played Liverpool ? Maybe it was two games two far for Malky's troops.
But we all went hoping for some divine intervention and the spirits was high on the Party Bus and none more when approaching Swindon we hit a massive traffic Jam apparently caused by a smash. But this then led to the biggest laugh i have had in ages when it was either Annis or Cheggers my money is it was cheggers!! as he is the only one nutty enough to do it spotted a horsebox on our inside with the guys mobile telephone number on the back so he rang the number and told the guy that his Horse had jumped off the guy immediately pulled over to the hard shoulder and we was able to witness what happened next as the traffic came to a standstill. He got out and checked the back and when he came back to his cab he had a face like thunder. And all he could then see was the party bus laughing so hard it must of been rocking
Then a very slow drive around Swindon and back on to the Motorway where we were to meet the Old bill at the RV point, but by then a Pub was out of the question as we arrived at the Boleyn about 10 minutes before kick off. The game itself i will leave to Ian but those that didn't go watched us being butt fucked live on Sky Sports and the display was awful, but we can say that because we witnessed one of the best displays ever by this team against Liverpool not so long ago. This to my shame was my first visit to West Ham and i must admit i like the ground and West Ham must dread moving to that grotesque bowl the Olympic Stadium. We had West Ham fans to our left and to be fair they were superb as the banter was awesome, some were right knobs as they were giving it the "You me out side shit" that is embarrassing and cringe worthy in my opinion. But after the Hammers scored there first goal we knew then it was defo all over so we just enjoyed ourselves, and when the Hammers fans were chanting there Wembley songs we came back with "if you have all been to Wembley clap your hands" and "four times we've been four times" and "f**k Man United were gonna Barnsley" songs.
The second half i don't think i saw much of the game was to busy joining in the banter and all credit to the big Black guy in the Home end as he joined in when we were singing "there's only one Lenny Henry" Then it was "Lenny do the " and he obliged The roar that went up was so loud everyone must of thought we had scored (but that was never gonna happen) The Hammers fans responded with "Lenny's gonna Wembley" and we followed back with "we want our Lenny back" And even when they scored there third Lenny didn't celebrate he looked at us and shrugged his shoulders But also chants of "ICF i chuck fruit" and chuck us an apple. Some fans in the home end were looking at each other in confusion obviously they haven't seen the clip on U tube .
But at the end the opposing fans were clapping each other on the way out personally i haven't enjoyed banter like that for a long time and that is what is missing at grounds and that is one reason we can never have that at the CCS unless they chane the Canton and Grange round. Got to mention Telling the Peado to sit down at half time was funny. But at the end the Players and Malky came over to us and yes they did deserve the applause not on those two games but for the season they gave us, full of effort, if at times flair and skill was missing, but that now is up to the owners and Malky to put right.
Trying to find our Coach was a nightmare but after going up down several times we eventually found our Coach and then the Journey out of the East End was still full of banter and at one point (Harry /Carter/ my bloody Son) was hanging out the skylight shouting abuse at the Hammers Fans then there was a shout from our fans Leader "Regan bloody get down" Regan then sat down like a naughty school Boy Oh yeah he still is
And on the way home Regan was arguing with Tenerife Blue telling him he was in Burnley for the National Karate championships when we was in Birmingham. (No wonder he got hit he didnt know where he was) Fair play Harry you will have to start to pay attention at Geography (he takes after his Mother on that )
But summing up my thoughts we on the Party bus was not down hearted at all we had a great away trip a great season and i ain't bothered that we didn't get to Wembley. For some reason it has not hit me hard at all and i can't explain why. But it was great company on the Party Bus good laughs and long may that continue. That is another season over with see you all next season except those that will be joining us on a Forum piss up in the summer in the City Centre.
