Lets cash-in on Whitts while we still can

Great servant to the club and all that but goes missing far too much for me over a season and with his age I really do think that we need to cash-in on him now.

He was terrible today and looked like a player who was already on his way out. I think he is going and what convinces me more is there are suggestions within the club from a female source I know we are looking at a playmaker from Europe. This could be Whittinghams replacement. Im not saying anything more until she releases a little more concrete information as I dont want it to blow up out of proportion with all the drama queens on here. I've read this messageboard and some of the members would easily get a first in BA Theatrical Drama.

The type of drama queen my post above described has just arrived. Whilst it is in his aspirations to be entertained by a more mature human, I will not do so.

I'll leave you with this 'You believe what you want son, I don't nor will I, prove myself to you or anyone else on this forum'. I let information go at the rate im told by a respectable member within the club and that's it.

It's very important he stays, but also important we bring in players which means we can give him a rest from time to time

Completely agree with this actually, he's the heart of the team and everything great about City this season has come through him. He's chipped in defensively superbly as well.

You may notice I called him shit earlier in the thread, desite this contradiction I am f*cking right you cunts!

Yes I would sell him. You may ask why and i'll tell you. The reasons are simple. Over the last few seasons he has been immense but this season has shown glimpses of the fact that he is past his best in his career. Whilst on his day he can be a player who can easily dictate a game and kill a side off this is not currently happening enough. He looks disorientated, out of sorts and looks like he has his head somewhere else. I feel for him because the last two seasons he has been immense and deserved to be a premier league player but this season he doesn't. He has dropped in form and is nowhere near the midfield maestro he was. Over the last few seasons (not including this one) if you asked anyone with a brain about Championship football to construct you a 3 person list of the players who could dictate a game easily they'd give you Adam at Blackpool, Whitts at City and Taarabt during his time at QPR.

Whitts doesn't have the same vibe about him he once had and it hurts me to say it but I think his best days are over and how he never got a move to a premiership club during his prime years I dont know but thats unfortunately how it has panned out for him and that is life.

As much as it hurts me to say it, we don't need to keep hold of a bit part player who can turn it on now and again, we need a player who is consistent, even if slightly lesser in quality. Britton during his prime in the championship wasn't as good as Whitts but he was consistent and that is why Scott Sinclair scored so many because he kept getting fed. I could give you numerous other examples from this season. Technically Whitts is a superb player and I respect him greatly as a gentleman but the truth is, he is not as consistent as he once was.

Sell the bugger... fecking useless

He is ok as long as he only has to take free kicks and shoot now and again, But Malky said he wanted every player to defend, strikers too. Whitts did start off like that at the start of the season but soon stoped. When have you ever seen him jump up for a head ? I think I seen it 4 times but never even got near to winning it. Sell him !

The only real creativity in the squad of any quality and experience, can go missing yes, but he is on the retain list for me.

Ryan Giggs never plays for Wales like he does for Manchester United.... How many times did we hear that shit.

That is because we only had one seriously good player, take him out the game and the other 9 outfield players are organised hard workers, but limited... Same scenario to me. I believe Whitts came of age this season, early when nobody knew how to stop us he ran games, but when teams sussed they needed to stop him the others couldn't step up.

The lack of width and pace allowed team to crowd us out in midfield by holding a very high line, and play ridiculously narrow, lets face it Kenny or Joe ain't going to burn you.

When Malky gets genuine pace and width next season, they won't be able to crowd the midfield.

WE KEEP HIM.........
