DICKSON ETUHU

Anyone else think he could be a decent signing?

City need someone defensive, what with McPhail getting older and - unfortunately - becoming less able to play a full season. Etuhu is powerful and could boss any Championship midfield. Rarely plays for Fulham with Jol now in charge - could come on the cheap.

Also, he isn't Kelvin Etuhu - so that's a plus.

Not a bad shout in my opinion. He may well come on the cheap. This is where our manager will really earn his money (apart from the results) in convincing talented players to step down a notch and take less pay in order to end up in the Prem (where he currently lies). But instead of stagnating in reserves or on bench he would be a regular for us in champ or in Prem.

Not quite sure, I'd prefer if we signed young players from the premiership, i.e. reserve players on low wages who got a point to show their worth. E.g. Lanbury of arsenal.

Or

Players from the lower league, in the similar mould of Joe Mason, someone who we can develop and have a fighting spirit to play at a higher level. I just cant see players who have been in the premiership for quite some time, to drop down at championship and to have to same passion to play at higher level again, whilst this is not always the case, it is true on many occasions.

Remember, those new financial rules come in to effect the next season, so we cant be spending much money on transfers and wages.
