One For The Mechanics - car help needed

Right lads i have a skoda fabia 1.4 51reg, the fuel consumtion is very poor around 30 miles for a tenner it has been serviced but that has made no differnce at all, any ideas what it could be and what are my options, any feed back will be appreciated thanks.

Sorry to be a bringer of bad news but that sounds about right.I've had a 1.4 auto for about 7 yrs(nearly time for a change)and I've never got better than 30mpg running round-but mines a bit better on a run.I've had bigger cars that are better on petrol than this fucker but I've had very little go wrong with it in 80k miles of motoring.

a service would make no difference to fuel consumption.....your average is 15 to the gallon....i think you need to get it looked at...if you google this you may find the answer..maybe throttle body sticking and your burning to much fuel with no air....but im an electrician not a mechanic
