they were probably disgusted that their team took an hour to perform.

It was a very poor performance for an hour, and then they played well for the last half hour.

I think we can draw a degree of comfort for the game from Monday from this game, as Liverpool only had 30 minutes to get 2 goals back, whereas we've got 90 minutes to get the same number of goals.

I know Liverpool failed, but they came as close as its possible to come to get back on par without actually doing it - and we have 3 times as much time as they had, so I think all is definitely not lost for us.

By the way, I agree that I was proud of our fans staying behind to applaud the team in 2008, something rarely seen with others, as was evidenced today, as the op has said. I stayed behind that day until well after the medals were given out, and still thousands of us in the stadium.
