" For the love of the club - not success "

Sat May 05, 2012 10:47 am

We have a core support who's motives are simple - we support; attend games; promote the club; travel everywhere; spend cash a lot of us don't have, because of one thing - our love of the club and the areas it represents, not the potential success that is on occasions served up.

We all come from proud Valleys; towns; villages & Cities that produce a passion and loyalty that is right up there with anywhere in Britain, and we have 2,000 Bluebirds travelling Monday who have yet another opportunity to show in front of a worldwide audience why we have the reputation of generating a noise and support for the players/club, that is the envy of other clubs and the pride of our own.

Call it naivety, or call it blind faith but I firmly believe this tie is not over and we have a golden opportunity to show why we are the Pride of Wales and embarrass those cockneys who've displayed a degree of arrogance that doesn't sit well with the culture of life in South Wales. Malky knows it's not over, and as such the players will certainly know it's not.

No-one needs reminding of this, but from the moment we depart for the Boleyn Ground on Monday morning we are as one with the club and we make a racket that is going to unsettle opposition & their fans, which will provide our boys the best possible chance from kick off of getting the job done.

What better way of progressing to the final, than thinking West Ham have got it and we turn on the style in their own backyard and silence the whole ground with a show of passion that they wouldn't have witnessed in that ground for many a year.

Monday will be a quality trip, and one which maybe, just maybe develops into one of the best. Lets show em...BELIEVE :ayatollah:

Top man.

I don't support this club for success, I support it because its my club, represents my area, my predecessors, and I'm proud of all this and the lads who support the club with me, who sit by me at the gorund and travel away with me.

Sucees is nice, but its a side issue, pride in yourself and your area has always been more important to me, and thats the difference between us and the plastics.

Its not just about the game, if CCFC didn't exist I doubt I'd have more than a passing interest in watching football.

Certainly hope we do Jon, especially for those arrogant big mouthed west ham fans that were mouthing off stuff like "didn't realise people were so ugly in this part of the world" as they made their way into the away end on Thursday. Big tough guys mouthng off as they walked through families and young fans. And also the dickheads that drove up Bessemer road singing "I'm forever blowing bubbles" with their windows wound down. Hope we f*cking stuff them.....horrible club with horrible fans.

To support your local team through good and bad times, that what a supporter is.
This team ,coaches and manager, do their best for us, perhaps somethings that they try don't come off,but you can never question their commitment . I have never Boo'd my team, never will, cant understand those who do.
This season as been a pleasure ( a lot better than I expected) . So if it ends where it began WHU so be it.
So thank you CCFC the mighty BLUEBIRDS for the ride of 2011-12 , its been emotional , enjoyable and not so enjoyable.
But I'll be back next season for more of the same please .
Malky if you can conjure up some magic to extend this season I wont argue :D

As I recently posted, I've been saying the same thing since 1962 when I watched them play their last game in the 1st Division.....but....
