OUR AFFAIR WITH THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!

Sat May 05, 2012 9:24 am

I watched thursday nights game on sky and after the initial dissapiontment it got me thinking about "what if" etc. Since then i have watched it a further twice and there is no doubt that we could and should have scored at least twice in that game. There are two things you need in the playoffs above anyhing else, that is momentum and luck, the latter seems to give Cardiff City a wide berth every time. Take last seasons playoffs for example, forest hit the woodwork three times over the two games against the jacks, we lost bellamy after half an hour in the first leg against reading and he took no part at all in the second leg, we also lost our two goalkeepers to injury forcing us into bringing in that clown from derby, in the final reading scored two quick goals to get them back in the game and then seen a certain goal blocked on the line by a defender who didn,t have a clue where the ball would end up. Against west ham we created NINE chances of which in my opinion, five were more than decent and probably should have been put away, no doubting that we were quite poor in the first half and overall west ham deserved their win but the score line defiantly flattered them, we had a deflected shot in the first minute which hit the bar, they had a deflected shot which ended up in the bottom corner of the net. I think we have given ourselves too much to do in the second leg on monday, but if we do score the first goal then it will make for a tense and exciting game, whatever happens malky and the players have given their all for us this season and done the club proud, i,m sure come the summer we will add a lot of strength to the squad for next seasons push for the premier league, if so can we please go up automatically, because lady luck does,nt sem to like us!!!!!

You create your own luck in this game, we had good scoring chances which we created and wasted those opportunities, West Ham on the other hand were clinical in their finishing. Not luck I'm afraid..finishing off scoring opportunities is what seperated the sides imo.
