Proud of the players and fans last night

Fri May 04, 2012 11:53 am

In all honesty we came up short last night. Our lack of width and pace was quite evident and the lack of flair and abilty to break down well organised teams showed. However our work rate was second to none and the players kept trying and trying which is all I can ask of them on another day some of the chances would have found the back of the net. The supporters kept the faith and even at 0-2 the noise levels didnt drop even asking Malky to do the ayotollah to which he duly obliged. IMO we have exceeded expectations given the turnaround of staff we had in the summer and players. We played in one of the most dramatic ever seen at Wembley and ARE still in which a change in the return leg. Whatever happens Im proud of everyone. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

well said that man, another point to be made is seeing as WH had a big part of the play exactly how many chances did they actually have. i think i counted six for cardiff although some could be classed as half chances. they scored two goals one of which was a catalogue of bad defending starting on the halfway line the other a wicked deflection. so city did,nt do too bad.

agreed, season has gone better than any of us expected.. Few of our players were under par last night but we still had chances, just wasn't our night
