The Essential Kenny Miller Thread

Fri May 04, 2012 9:27 am

I hope this comes back to bite me but, not getting a proven quality striker in has cost this club promotion. MMs decision to play Kenny for every match he is available is shocking, his strike rate is awful, King Kenny Miller.............My Arse.

Kenny's highlight 'fluffs' include missing a penalty against Palace, missing a golden chance one on one with the keeper against Liverpool in the dying minutes, missing his penalty against Liverpool and missing a lot more throughout the season, even the text last night said Kenny Miller missed a series of half chances (the story of his season here)

and just for all you apologists Kenny Miller is a striker and reputedly the highest earner at the club, he is paid as a striker to score goals, which he doesn't do frequently enough. Some of you on here seem to rate him because he isn't playing with 'a big man' or because his work rate is great.........................but folks HE ISNT SCORING GOALS, HE IS A STRIKER !!!!!!!!!!

Miller to Liverpool?

-Touch and finishing: Good with both feet and fairly agile, he can control turn and shoot accurately if the ball arrives to him in the box, something which isn't natural to any of our players bar Suarez. He may not have the touch of Suarez, but he certainly doesn't have the touch of Carroll, and his finishing is instinctive, he doesn't have to spend spend a precious half-second thinking about where he's going to put the ball, something which has cost us this season.

All our problems started with the introduction of Joe Mason.

Not blaming Joe, but Joe and Miller are essentially wanting to play the same role. The 451 worked with Gunner, whitts and kiss in the middle with conway and cowie as slow wide players. We passed teams to death causing overloads and kenny gently tapped in goals as he had a bit of time and he was in the box when he received the ball.

Malky needs to decide Miller or mason for next season.

I'll be disgusted if Miller starts next season, Mason is twice the player Miller is and obviously has more potential. Mason's finishing is great, Miller's is dire.

People just don't want to admit that I was right :old:

I don't feel the need to be too critical of Miller, due to his workrate. It may not matter to some people, but it does to others.

Some of his misses have been crucial, though and he needs some lessons in accuracy, rather than trying to hit it into next week.

Nedd, he's a striker FFS. His form is a bit like my school work was...............................

Rita tries hard and also encourages those around him, but his ability and final product falls short of what is expected, unfortunately being a trier isn't going to get Rita his qualifications.

I appreciate what you're saying and hopefully, Mr MacKay will eventually see what the rest of us are seeing. In my opinion, his best place would be in midfield, maybe behind the front man (Mason). Failing that, his time is up, as he's past 30 and you can't teach an old dog new tricks - or can we?

He needs someboy up there with him, or somebody capable of creating more for him in an around the box. Too often he's playe up there himself an because we won't create enough he comes deeper an deeper for the ball as the game goes on.

He needs shooting practice, or a few games rest might of helped. Problem is he knows hes guaranteed to start what ever form he is in.

Thats what he is trying to do.

By dropping him into midfield we are not playing McPhail, or Kiss who are much better midfielders than Kenny.

Lets see what malkys does..........
