Emptiest I have seen family end all season

Fri May 04, 2012 8:31 am

Im season ticket in family end right next to away fans, and several rows were nearly completey emptey. I have never seen this before down there. My row only had 2 other people in it, row in front only had 4 or 5. And the bar queue was shorter than normal. Normally have to edge past lots in my row after half time beer but could just walk straight down it last night. Very strange people normally moan they can't get a ticket in the family end have people just giving up??

Lots of families sat near me, who didn't support the team at all last night - totally silent - and I was wondering why they weren't in the Family Stand when I could see so many empty seats. Very strange.

There's a lot of part time fans in the family stand who only go because it's cheap and somewhere to take their kids.

I'm not knocking that, their entitled to do it, but their support isn't the most wholehearted. Such is football support these days.

Having said that, I know some new fans in the family stand, and they're as committed and passionate as the most loyal fans.

Looking forward to one of the greatest days in recent Cardiff City history on Monday when we turn around the deficit at Upton Park. 0-2 to City - win on pens.

I am clinically insane of course.

the family stand shouldnt be next to the away end im sure it would put familys off taking there kids , with alot of rough characters from west ham shouting abuse. swap the stands back for fucks sake.

I have seats in the family stand and was shocked at the number of ST holders who were missing last night. I also think that the club should rethink it's policy of not selling tickets to non ST holders if you haven't got a child with you.

It seems to me we missed out on a record attendance last night because of unsold seats in the family stand and that's disappointing.

There were loads of empty seats in the main stand too so anyone without kids who wanted a ticket could've got one.

It does amaze me though that people can buy a season ticket, watch a team for 23 games, then not bother going to the biggest game of the season.
