A Shambolic tactically inept embarassing performance

Thu May 03, 2012 10:25 pm

Bloody woeful that was. Does kenny Miller know how to shoot. What the feck is Whittingham doing sat in his own half alongside the central defenders most of the first half. How can our so called best player have any influence on the game playing there. Why wasnt McPhail selected to play in the anchor role for our midfield. Lawrence looked like an old aged pensioner trying to put one foot in front of the other out on the right so bloody slow. I think we can forget it in the away leg and next year lets have some pace out wide please Malky and ant least two 20 goal a season strikers on board. Miller dont cut it Earnies too old, Gestede is too raw. Mason is the only shining light. Conclusion!!! - honeymoon period well and truly over Malky.

Signed - One very angry pissed of Cardiff City supporter.

Thought Miller was very unlucky with his two first half strikes.
The second half attempt when he chested and volleyed maybe should have done a bit better.
Much better than earnies erratic shot.

We all know we need width and a striker but with what we have it's the best we had.

Dissagree Miler was playing far too deep, Whittingham was playing far too deep, we had no width at all. tactically we were done like kippers. We were crying out for somebody to put their foot on the ball and calm things down. We had the perfect man in McPhail on the bench (what on earth was he doing on the bench) . Had McPhail been anchoring the midfiled. This would have allowed Whittingham and Miller to operate higher up the field where they are supposed to be playing and given West Ham something to worry about, whereas all we did was worry about what West Ham were doing. In my view we should go for broke in the second leg I would play Naylor at Left back and push Taylor forward into the left midfield/wing, this will give us more width on the left and I would bring Kadeem Harris onto the right side of midfield (hopefully McNaughton will be back as well)this will give us width and pace out on the right. Hopefully Gestede will be fit as we have to have a different option up front alongside Mason (this will be a far pacier option up front). I would also go with Gunarsson and Kiss in the middle of the park this will give us more grit and tenacity and we will still have the creativity there (so yes leave whittingham McPhail and Miller on the bench - this wil leave us options to tighten up the game later on if we can get back into it early). Listen, we have nothing to lose - just go for it. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: As for earnies erratic shot - at least he tried shooting at goal, Miller is far too shot shy for a striker - whats he afraid of???

The heading sums up all our home games since January. The performances have been dire, the fact we reached the playoffs, just shows how poor this league has been this season.

Dont go blaming the players chaps, this is what they train for up at the vale, it's all directed from the coaching staff.
Malkey has to take a hit on this one, but he will learn from it and bounce back stronger having made this f**k up.

Keep the faith comrades :ayatollah:
