" NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

Thu May 03, 2012 9:33 pm

We gave it our best, our players gave 100%, money talks, their class shone through in the end, spend in January and you will eventually get there.

Proud of every City player. Westham here we come next Monday. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I disagree with your statement in terms of the first half but hey ho.

I'm angry but we all are.

Bring it on Monday, definetly nothing to lose now :ayatollah:

Same here its been a fantastic season and despite tonight's result I am still looking forward to Monday :ayatollah:

We made enough chances tonight to convince me it's all to play for on minday. We have to be tighter at the back and retain the ball better to begin with though.

Roll on Monday!

Has the RV point been confirmed yet?

Well said Annis, totally agree! Looking forward to Monday, and next season wherever we maybe...

Re: " NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

Thu May 03, 2012 9:45 pm

Your right Annis I felt different tonight going to the game, previous play offs huge expectations due to our team full of stars, but this year a team full of hard workers giving 100% for the shirt, we just lacked a bit of class and cutting edge all season to be honest. I am at home dissapointed but prouder today than previous seasons I feel Malky is the right man to take us forward if we can achieve what we have this season with a threadbare squad then next season will be even bigger and we still got Monday to try and put right tonights dissapointment :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: " NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

To win 2 nil at West Ham is not at all impossible...in fact very do able.

As soon as we score they will be crapping themselves.

All to play for ....... and we are good at penalties (usually).

Re: " NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

Thu May 03, 2012 9:47 pm

It was always going to be tough and that's proving to be the case. Whatever happens on Monday we've exceeded expectations and can be very proud. However, i wish we would stop hoofing the ball long to two small strikers at every opportunity and it's about time Kenny Miller scored in a big game. Fingers crossed we can pull a huge performance out of the bag on Monday but I think it may be beyond us now. We've been running on empty for a long time and did well just to make the play offs this year. Hopefully with a few new faces in the summer we can challenge for automatic promotion next year!

We had the chance but we coudlnt convert them. It was always going to be tough.
The first goal we gave away was very poor.

Excellent post telling it like it is :ayatollah:
West ham's squad is premiership class maybe not firing on all cylynders but the players they have are quality..
I wont point the blame at any player tonight they all give it 100% and kept trying thats all i ask. :ayatollah:

We need prolific goalscorer, someone who will pop up and score out of knowhere, someone like Chopra but who wouldn't go missing months on end

Re: " NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

I am proud of the side though, got nothing to lose in the second leg, just go out and attack from the start, get an early goal and they will be sh*tting it

Annis you,re right what you,ve said but there were some poor perfomances tonight, the two full backs, blake and taylor were poor and whittinham was shocking, second half we had chances which we didn,t take but in general the best team won and lets be honest with the squad they have they should have done to this league what newcastle did two years ago. The summer will be interesting, if they give malky some decent money for the transfer market then we,ll have a chance, but in general not a bad first season for him and the team!!!!!

good post annis.poor first goal to concede and an offside against mason when 2down that most refs would have it let go .the lad would have been 1 on 1.yes west ham the better team but monday is a different day .nothing to lose .the players have done cardiff city proud this year.heads up and go again boys.nothing to be ashamed of what so ever

Re: " NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

I think we are still vey much in this tie - an early goal and they could well crumble.

I just don't rate them very much, and I suspect if they do get through either Birmingham or Blackpool will beat them.

Mind, whatever happens, still a good year for us :ayatollah:

Also, West Ham played much better than when they were down here a couple of months ago.

we seemed pretty vulnerable, and yet they decided not to go for the kill and settled for 2 0 after an hour.

Lets hope Allardyce lives to regret that!

I agree and disagree with you.

In terms of their class and quality I completely agree, they are a very good team. But at the same time tonight, we had our chances and conceded in my opinion very sloppy goals. But, its only half time, still 90 mins to go.

Hope they do, because the team only gave 20% tonight :old:

Your talking shit again.. 20%

You seem surprised

Rose and Barbara bitching again'' Truth is you can bitch all you like in defence of that crap tonight, Fek how much WHU have spent bla bla bla, Cardiff took TEN points from the two clubs that went up automatically (southhampton/reading) WHU took one point from the same clubs mentioned, Cardiff also took a team that cost far more than WHU in money and talent to the wire in front of millions (Liverpool), A performance like that would have left WHU shell shocked, But its more obvious than ever that the plastic infested CCS along with club policies hasn't the vibe any Cardiff team needs especially in such games of importance, Last season we held Reading to a 0 0 draw at reading with eeeez only to get thumped in the return game at the CCS?????? We dealt with Leicester the year be for 1 0 at Leicester and we were lucky to make the Final, The CCS and the powers that be have made a morgue of an atmosphere for the City. You will see a different Cardiff City at the Bolin on monday when 2000 City fans the majority Die hard's will make more noise than a stadium full glory hunters made tonight, That stadium of ours is a feking passion killer and it effects the players.end off :old:

Just got home to East London! Just one of those nights tonight where we were very poor and they were excellent, thought Malky should have played McPhail from the start instead of Lawrence which would have allowed Whitts to get further forward. I feel surprisingly optimistic for Monday and cant wait for it, we have nothing to lose andeverything to gain and the atmosphere and support from the 2000 we take there will blow them away, should we get an early goal it's squeaky bum time for the Hamsters and then we will see how good they really are :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Looking back on the high lights on TV, We had more chances than I realised and good ones, but we never really tested their goalie did we ? I stand by what I said, Westham did a professional job at our place and the score does not lie. But I am optimistic for the return leg and cant wait, Westham here we come, see you all there at Upton Park this Monday. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

What complete and utter bullshit ... Money talks er , Please explain how Reading and Southampton went up automatically , how Leicester didn't even make the Playoff's and how Swansea was able and still is able to live our dream

Just take off your I love Malky rose tinted glasses and face facts . Malky clueless with no plan B, no class at all in the side, the most inept forward line I've seen for years at Cardiff and its not like the Football is at all any better , in fact its worse with the most God awful boring shit one could watch .... You can shove your work ethic where the sun don't shine, class always win the day and scores the goals

Yeah lets Give Malky more money to buy shit like Miller and play God awful boring Football in the true Scottish style .

Disappointed but not going to turn on the Manager or team who have given everything this Season and there is still all to play for at Upton Park. We know we can play a lot better than we did last night and in particulat Whitts had a off day and now owes us a big performance.

However even though we didn't play well we created some very good chances and on another day could have won while both Wet Spam goals could and should have been prevented :( An early goal on Monday and it's game on, couldn't get a ticket but to the 2000 going roar the team on we really have nothing to lose and if we get in their faces and put them under pressure you never know :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think you better look at the crap you spout.
So Malky is clueless ?
Yet in his first season, we achieve the Carling Cup Final and take Liverpool to penalties in the final and we make the Play-offs in Malky's first season. Half the squad is not Malky's and has had to carry them all for the whole season.

Yes money does talk and if you spend, I promise you this it goes a log way in helping you go up, of course there are exceptions.

You're the one speaking crap . If it was all about Money The likes of Leicester and West Ham would have gone up automatic , don't you think ?, Middlesbrough a few years earlier

1st year eh... what did Southampton do in their 1st year in the Championship , what did Rodgers do in his 1st year at Swansea , what did Ian Holloway do in his 1st year at Blackpool remember ? - Its called getting up to the Premiership on a poor budget and brining in no new players (in Holloway case)

So spare me this Money and 1st year load of excuses . Keep those 'I love Malky rose tinted spec's handy for Monday, when we get annihilated . Oh and I'll have a Big laugh if Jones takes Wednesday up at the 1st time of asking

Re: " NOT DOWN HEARTED AT ALL "

I think some people are confusing our players playing badly with not putting enough effort in. It was clear that some of the players just couldn't find their touch tonight and it's unfortunate it came in this game. They didn't stop trying though so I can't fault them for that. Sometimes the better team does win. We weren't the better team tonight. Can we beat West Ham by two goals away? I can't see it. I couldn't see us taking Liverpool to penalties in the Carling Cup Final mind either! Believe! :ayatollah:

Only 2 teams can go up Automatic, League table does not lie Westham finished about 11 points clear of us and done the business on us last night, they scored 2 conceded zero, but fair play we gave everything, but were just not good enough, look at the quality they had out there and on the bench, yes or no ?
