CHRIS BURKE last night

Tue May 01, 2012 6:46 pm

Attending Birmingham City Awards dinner last night as guest of a Bluenose work mate as i do every year.

Burkey wiped the board and picked up
Player of Year
Players player
Young fans player of year
Fans player of year

Had a quick chat with him and he stated he is loving his footy this year , playing every week and given freedom to attack. He was very complimentery of Chris Hughton and his management style/teamspirit. Loved playing in Europe this year. Wouldnt comment on why left or his relationship with Jonesy and was chuffed we had done so well. Clearly loved his time wth us. From video footage shown he was Clearly brums best player with many goals and loads of assists this year.Just glad he didnt turn up at CCS.
Left me thinking how good he would he would have been under Malky this year for us . Could have turned a few of our draws into wins that could have been crucial.

Much to delight of Blues mates - IN speeches Both Hughton and Tom Ross (local broadcsater and compare) commented how they had 3 big games and by beating Blackpool and West Ham they would be back in prem.
The Fans i spoke to think we are real underdogs that will come through v West Ham and fear it could be our year after last few years of hurt. They went through same 10 years ago. They are looking forward to bank holiday friday in Blcakpool and also have 2k away tickets Good night and good banter.Hope to see em all at Wembley! where we all agreed if we both get there, the game will be too big for any of our usual pre match beers and freindship. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

he deserved it.run close by curtis in my view.other lads like fahey and murphy could and would of run him closer if they hadn,t been out with injuries,c,b has been ever present and always puts a shift in and can add a bit of magic, good lad.in your team this year you may have been up by now with him in it.attacks but helps his full back, that bit of flair you,re missing.good luck for thurs.smash em

Chris Burke was virtually forced to leave Cardiff, if he had known DJ was being sacked he would of def stayed with us.

Jeff, I was and still am a Burke admirer, DJ treated him terrible and so he had to move on and our loss is your gain.

He has looked a different player this year with his performances for Birmingham, I thought his first 2 seasons with us he was great but last year he was one of the ones who didnt show and for that i LOST A LOT OF RESPECT
You can say all you want about players not getting on with DJ, BUT ONCE THEY ON THE PITCH IT should not matter they are playing for the club, fans, and getting well paid.
Second half of last season Burke was poor, he let us down
