Crystal Palace goal Saturday

The best goal scored against us this season I reckon. Subline pass from their full back just inside his own half. Left our central defenders and the near full back standing. If its going to take that sort of play to score against us then the play offs are there for the taking.

I thought it was a really cheap goal to lose mate. Zaha pulled Turner well up the park, laid the ball off and left him for dead. Turner was never catching him and Taylor hadn't tucked in to cover. However, we very rarely get caught out like that.

Also, A little further up the pitch and just before it happened I think Whitts switched off for a second, because with a little more effort, I think he could have got the initial tackle in to prevent the ball coming down that channel anyway.

Im sure they would have analysed all this though, ready for Thursday :ayatollah:

I thought Marshall should have stayed on his feet and in his box - especially in those conditions.

Bit harsh to blame Ben Turner IMO, as he got beat by about 2 yards, in a 40 odd yard footchase, against one of the quickest players in the Football League in Wilfried Zaha!

I'd prefer to give Zaha credit for making his run and Darren Ambrose the credit for playing a sublime pass in for him, rather than criticise our defenders for the goal! :ayatollah:

It's not a criticism as such, just how I viewed it. Zaha, for me, knew what he was doing in pulling Turner out like that - I would prefer to see a midfielder tucking in when they come deep so we don't get caught out.

It's still a good piece of play from Zaha, we just need to be a little more streetwise in that situation.
