I tell you what cardiff were totally overwhelmed that day. Our attendances were very low at this time, and no organised mob was out . A few of us were waiting down by the old newsagents opposite The Ninian. When the Wendy's came under the bridge they filled the road singing their heads off. There was thousands of them. I heard a few lads muttering f*cking hell look at this lot. Old bill marched them down Tudor road . Funny thing they were all in good spirits. They were on pitch so long most cardiff had gone home for tea lol. To be honest we had nothing we could do. It's the truth

Probably the biggest away support I'd seen at City in those days. Really good-humoured support - not looking for any trouble. I didn't see any trouble at all that day. Bit different to Chelsea's visit that season...

My first game watching cardiff. Think i was 14 or 13.

They were all over sloper road and the park - good spirits -no bother.

They probably outnumbered us by 3 or 4 to 1. They were on the grange terrace, through the grandstand and coming round to the canton.
think there wer one or two fence climers with bravado - but no one came in the bob bank, or if they did - it didnt register with me. crowd like a rugby match.
It was yorkshire blue and white and cardiff left when the game ended.
I didnt know any different at the time - but cant remember being intimidated - not like when the jocks came down around the same time to play wales when jock stien died.

Cardiffs in all blue and Wednesday's in blue and white stripes,very sunny that day and the photo quality isn't all that good!

I was there that day. We did a similar sort of thing at Scunny in '93. Happy days.

we had 150 young soul crew in side streets behind ninian pub,all we came across was shirter's(i would like 2 add,unlike some cowardly firm's,not 1 shirter was touched).that was it.anyway we got f**k all 2 prove 2,u ain't even main lad's in ur own city

When someone does ya pitch and grandstand it means only one thing.........you've been well and truly done.

I know you're having a bit of banter,and I enjoy your posts,but go on,I'll rise to the bait...very large numbers,but no bottle whatsoever on that day,you got chased all over the place by the castle/tudor hotel by equal numbers, also further down by the Napier you had a torrid time,even with a police escort, outside the Grangend,about 50 of you got battered by about 20 of the Rhondda's finest, Weds were out for a drink,and didn't want any bother that day,very similar to man city in the cup years later...do you wish me to embaress you about the away game at yours when your terraces were closed,we had approx 3/400 in the stand,your main mob was seated about 10 rows back with a load of ob in between,it was pissing down,a few of us asked the ob if we could move back to get out of the rain,no probs, about 20 of us stood up to move back,all and I mean all of the Weds legged it,bless em,we only wanted to keep dry mun.
