West Ham beat Hull 3-0 and Southampton draw 1-1 with Coventry?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but they will be on the same number of points, with the same goal difference and the same number of goals scored, and furthermore, the same number of goals conceded. What happens then?

I got a feeling in the back of my head it may go down to the games v each other.

There are a couple of options really. If both teams have equal points, equal goals for and against, it can go down to the most scored against each other, if level it can go to away goals, or even in the extreme case a play off game between the two to decide.

It happened between teams in World Cup group once at the 1990 World Cup finals and they ended up drawing out of a hat of who finished in what position.

Its decided on the head to head scores this season
