A forum for all things Cardiff City

There are a few City players that can't pass the ball to save their lives, what I don't understand is why don't they spend extra time on the training field learning how to pass the ball
It's like a singer going on stage and they can't sing, what I have seen all season is that certain players, without naming names can't pass the ball 5 yrds, surely this is not acceptable, you would think that when you are on a stage where 25000 people are watching you, that you should have the tools to do the job of your chosen trade, if there is a weakness, you work on it untill you are proficient at it, and it should be in your own time, players get plenty of free time during

the week, so there shouldn't be any excuses as to no free time, what are your thoughts on this?

Whitts needs a little practice with the simple balls. Yesterday we lost possession so many time because he passed it straight to their players. Turner also did it a few times as well

We lost the ball 14 times yesterday due to kev

Turner with time on the ball always waits till an opposition player closes him down before trying to squeeze away a pass. Whitts can't keep the ball on the field when taking a corner or free kick these days and why does Marshall take an age to take a goal kick, I wouldn't mind if he did it when we were winning to waste time but he does it when we are drawing or losing.

Turner hits the long ball from left to right, and he rarely finds his man only to give possesion back to the opposition, as you have named names one of the worst culprits is Mcnaughton, I think he is brilliant defending but his passing is to say the least is pathetic, I just wish that he would spend extra time on the training ground learning how to pass, he would become a much better player and his confidence would improve all other aspects of his game.

Paul you hit the nail on the head there

Mcnaughton and Turner the main culprits

In Turners defence, everytime he hits the long ball its been because either the midfield hasnt bothered moving or a centre mid hasnt dropped deep to take the ball off him.
Superkev cant pass 3yds without finding either touch or an opposing player

I'm going to defend Kev. Even though lately his passing has been shocking, yesterday he completed a lot more passes. He looks a little more confident with Conway or Lawrence in front of him instead of Cowie or Gunnar. Plus once yesterday he played a good pass to Misser Miller who was just too lazy to come and retrieve it.
Let's just get off his back and support him as he's been a great servant to this club

Im not having a go at Kev, he just can't pass
Too late for him to learn now

Biggest problem with Kev is that he passes where the player WAS, not where he's going
Watch this in future, if it was a player for another side it would be funny.
Still the only player in our side with any pace and a very good defender.
