dont remember that but do remember adrian alston doing same but missed by inches that was strait from a kickoff! incase dont remember him he played along side carl dale lol

I think you mean Tony Evans as Alston`s strike partner.

Tony Evans and Adrian Alston; what a brilliant strike partnership. That 75/76 promotion season remains my favourite ever supporting the City. Happy days

I remember John Charles scoring from about 70 yards against Norwich City in 1963. According to the Daily Mail today, they reckon it was an indirect free kick from our own half which bounced in front of their goalkeeper (Kevan Keelan) and then the ball hit his shoulder and then into the goal.
My reollection was he the ball was in open play in our own half and he hit a high ball which bounced in front of Keelan and then over his head into the goal
Can any older fans confirm this ?

just reading an old fanzine & an article on Kevin Bartlett, & it mentions a goal he scored v Port Vale in the 88/89 season, a 35 yard lob from a wide angle. If so, the game was played on the 28 Jan 1989, City winning 3-0, [Gilligan 2 Bartlett], & its was also Kevin's last league goal for Cardiff City, before he was transferred to WBA.
I didn't go to that game, but the few time i did watch City then i thought that KB was our best player, & was pissed off when City let him go!

He was class. We got rid of him when we were struggling - probably to pay some bills, as has been the case with City many times over the years, sadly.
