Right back to the Sun and taking the kids to Palma Nova. :ayatollah:

we can still get 4th only 1 pt off, could also get 7th! even 8th mathematically so we still need to make sure we get 3 pts on saturday.

I have never really doubted we would make the playoffs Annis, although I was a bit down when Coventry scored that last minute goal, and I think we now only need to draw against Leeds or Palace to confirm our place.

When we are confirmed in the playoffs we will become only the 6th club in Championship history to make the playoffs in 3 consequetive seasons.

Fantatsic effort by everyone.

Good achievement, but it means nothing without a win, really. The club needs promotion this year, or the debts will start to hit home.

Gary, if as is now expected we make the play offs could you tell us about the other 5 teams to make the play offs on 3 consecutive seasons, did any of them ultimately achieve success at the 3rd time of asking?

Re: Well it looks like I was wrong.

Carl the 5 previous clubs to make the playoffs on 3 consequetive seasons are Blackburn, Leicester, Tranmere, Bolton and Birmingham. In fact Birmingham are the only club to qualify in 4 consequetive seasons. Here are their records;

Blackburn Rovers 1998 - lost semi final, 1989 - lost final, 1990 - lost semi final.
Leicester City 1992 - lost final, 1993 lost final, 1994 won final.
Tranmere Rovers 1993 - lost semi final, 1994 - lost semi final, 1995 - lost semi final
Bolton Wanderers 1999 - lost final, 2000 - lost semi final, 2001 - won final
Birmingham City 1999 - lost semi final, 2000 - lost semi final, 2001 lost semi final, 2002 won final.

Bit of a mixed bag as regards the fortunes of each club but I fancy we may just emulate Bolton Wanderers. ;)

What about Ipswich back in the days Kieron Dyer used to play for them? They seemed to continually make the playoffs for several seasons and miss out, although I'm sure your records are accurate and Ipswich may have missed out on the playoffs altogether one season to break up their consecutive efforts?

Got me fella

Ipswich 1997 - losing semi finalists, 1998 - losing semi finalists, 1999 - losing semi finalists, 2000 won final.

Can't believe I missed them anyway we are the 7th club to qualify 3 season on the trot and 2 clubs have qualified 4 seasons on the trot.

It must have been a mare for the Leicester fans going into that third final on the trott.

But I have always had a slight hatred for Leicester since they went into administration in Oct 2002. No points deduction and a new stadium opened 3 months before administration. Their actions were partly why the FA brought in the points deduction.

Ipswich were in the play offs 4 times on the bounce. Three failed semis and then a final win. They have been in seven altogether.

If we go up I'd defo miss the Championship, true, loyal fans, exciting action and 3pm kick offs, but I'd also have a hell of a time in the Premier League going to places like Old Trafford, Emirates & Anfield :ayatollah:

I always thought around 7th upwards with this squad and other than a disaster we should get that but still plenty of work to do.

In my opinion the season has been a success though, a Cup final, nearly a play/off place and a squad we can now build on rather than re build again. We now have assets and pretty young ones to work with.

yes mate in the right circumstances i think that they should too.rabin getting topped didn,t help.arafat has a lighter side what people don,t/havn,t seen. a lot more free market than people would imagine too.
