STATISTICS NEVER LIE

Wed Apr 18, 2012 8:19 am

Unbelievably in my eyes, our current from and statistics are great, ten points out of the last twelve and an eight match unbeaten run which is the best in the Championship, yet it don't feel that impressive when watching.

We look far from fluent but we are chipping away, let's just hope the performances raise to match the stats and we coast through the play offs and finally get the just rewards. :ayatollah:

Its weird whar stats can do. Only last week we were all saying only 1 win in 14 now its changed to unbeaten in 8 etc

3rd time lucky gwyn?? it is all about momentum. if we can get a good result at home to leeds on saturday and a win or draw at palace that will be good going into the play offs.. i dont think we have to fear anyone in there, but would rather get a better league position to go away first and get a good result then come on for the 2nd leg..

Well Gwyn I'm sure the stats will say Derby were the better side had more of the ball and more shots , but at the end of the day a win is a win All I will say is lets win on Saturday to make sure we are in the Play-off's and then take it one game at a time, before we start any more dreams of a Play off run or yet another trip to Wembley

If you had watched us over the past 3 weeks then you would not think that our stats were going to be that good but the fact that we have goods stats proves that we are a decent team even though we do not appear to be playing particularly well (especially on the eye) at present.

Remember when we went up from League One? That was the worst season we'd had in years quality of football wise. I remember us losing 3-0 at home to Colchester and getting absolutely dicked with only a few games left as automatic promotion slipped away. We then just about stayed in the playoffs but then had the most defensively refined three games I've seen us have in the playoffs. 1-0, 0-0 and 1-0. Perfect. If we can do that again then that would be great. Performances don't matter, results do! :ayatollah:

Brilliant post and so spot on . Not just saying this, but we were also talking about that very same fact last night and how our Dire form going into the those Play off's didn't inspire any conferenced at all, but we did it
At the end of the day , wok ethic and performance do count, but fans only care about a win and winning is all that matters

We have hit a bit of luck last two games but I think luck and ref decisions have been against us more before, thank God it's shining on us now !!!

Got to agree Gwyn our form as been erratic to say the least, but we are grinding out results, riding our luck at times as well, would MM have got more out of that very talanted squad that DJ had last year?

My worry is that against a side like West Ham they will punish us if we are not at the top of our game :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

Stats can say most things if you work them well enough, our form has been patchy but for me right now its all about results and nothing else. In the end though the only stat that matters is http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table and for now it reads well.

The points the wins are building the confidence and hopefully the performances will come Saturday or at Palace.
United team who dont perform at their best and get the wins. They say if you win and dont play well it shows a great team and great mentality.
I will take 1-0 anytime. The defence is been better hopefully we can show a bit of exictment in attack :ayatollah:

8 matches unbeaten sounds better than it actually is.

We've had a lot of draws.
