eddie may chants tonight

Tue Apr 17, 2012 3:03 pm

I'm guessing there will be a minute's silence/applause before kick off tonight, but would it be perceived as "wrong" or "inappropriate" etc if throughout the game at certain points 20,000+ were as one chanting "Eddie May's, Barmy Army"?

I remember one night possibly 20 years ago now - the date was 10th March & I only know that as it was my birthday! Anyway it was a midweek match & I think we were playing Grimsby (possibly) but I remember the chant went on for it seemed like the whole of the 2nd half. Honestly nothing else was sung. It was just "Eddie May's Barmy Army" then the bob bank would slam the back of the bob bank like a drum.

I'll never forget it even if I can't quite remember the actual date!

We got the drummer boys, we could do another lengthy rendition tonight - the place would be absolutley rocking - and Derby won't know what wall of sound they will be walking in to!

R.I.P Mr May, a true Gent and CCFC Icon, in my eyes anyway. :ayatollah:

Aye, I didn't want to put that we lost!!!

I can just remember the bob bank actually felt like it was bouncing - and I was standing more toward the Canton end than where the grange end of the bob bank where the majority of the banging was coming from!!!

One of the best atmosphere's I've ever been in - regardless of the result!
