i really fear for us unless we get promotion

Mon Apr 16, 2012 10:01 pm

right lads before you read this, this isnt "i've given up we'er shit talk" i have written out this back way before christmas and have decided to post it now as its come to frutition.

since swansea got to the premiership we all knew plastics would flock to watch them play the big teams week in week out down at their caravan site. however what none of us did expect was the fact not only could they hold their own, their out playing other teams, and sadly playing some exciting football,

us on the other hand, are sadly playing boring football flat, nothing like the start of the season, however we're using the the same excuse, "tired" ect, when if you look at the teams above and around us, are playing the same players aswell week in week out.

i do love malky and believe he is the the right guy to lead us, sadly, under jones, we might of lost, but we lost playing some decent football and sometimes more passion than what we're getting now, and we can all say "jones had money" but jones played the same lads week in week out, and even when they looked tired they fought through and yes we had some bad times.

my biggest fear is, if we dont get promotion this year, then swansea can really take advantage and begin creating more capacity at the caravan park they could ultimatly take some section of our crowd, the plastics, and although some might argue good, if we lose the plastics we could see dwindling crowds next year.

the more hype they get, the more we could be left behind.

I don't think your worst fears there will be realised, as I think we will get up within the next 3 seasons, even if we don't this year.

If we didn't do that however, and Swansea stayed up there all that time, then the points you make could be more relevant.

Whatever happens though, city till we die :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

So what you're basically saying is that you're scared of Swansea. I can smell the fear from here and it isn't coming from Port Talbot.Your season has shown how fickle your support can be 39, 000 to a mid season cup final and then not a full house at home . You could be right regarding Swansea growing (it's already happening) but there's enough potential around both respective clubs catchment areas to sustain support for us both ,Its just we'll have more than you ;)

I understand ur fears but wasn't it very recent that Martin Keown said on national TV that watchin Swansea was like watching paint dry.
We on the other hand, were praised on national TV at the CC final.

Yes, we're not as exciting as we should be and this needs to be addressed with some quality added.
But promotion this season won't be our demise if we strengthen in the summer.

If we do strengthen, then MM has no excuses for subbing players or using a Plan B etc.

We all know we are not complete, yet we are where we are.

Its a funny old game.......

Why fear for us the owners are clearly not due to a squad that will not get promoted and have not put in money for a prem team so its pointless worrying as there not.

Just saying how it is tbh ,some fans seem to think its ok for the owners to plough 12-16million in each season to keep us afloat but where's there return back as I do not see one at all unless we got a squad for the prem eitherway this time next year when fans see a 90million in the red accounts I wonder will they be saying the same.

yeah right, we're really going to watch some average prem team because we can't make the prem ourselves

we're CCFC FFS.

You have some valid points but it would be a stretch to say that last years team ever played with more passion than this years team. The way this team works gives me hope that more fans will be attracted to the Bluebirds and our new boss (who based on our previous leader must have had the pockets on all of his suits sewn shut). I for one would prefer to lose matches due to lack of skill than lack of heart. Last year it was frustrating to lose when Jay was constantly on his arse and others were working off hangovers on the pitch. Support may change from time to time, but south Wales will never be completely blue nor white.

Truth is, unless we win the Champions League ( ), there will always be moaners about everything
Last year we were too direct, Jay was always on his arse.
This year we are not direct enough, and we try and keep the ball too much.

I wouldn't worry about Swansea at all, we are 2 or 3 quality players good enough to cause most teams problems and probably a team good enough to challenge for that top 2
These players have to be Quick Widemen and a top Striker

You ask Swansea Fans, first they became hard to beat, then they brought in Sinclair who was the difference last season

I understand your concerns however I do not think we have anything to worry about.

For most of us we will support Cardiff irrespective as to what division we are in. Thick and Thin.

Every team will have "plastics" and one thing I have noticed with them is that predominantly they go to see a side win and I would guess that we have a fair few plastics who would prefer to see us win (when we are winning!!) than see Swansea drawing a few games. Its all about the weekend "Feel Good Factor". For most of us a weekend is either made/lost by the result of a football match. We are either in a good mood for 48 hours or a bad mood. Winning, irrespective a to what division you are in, is better than drawing for some "plastics".

Rather surprisingly I am going to use Wigan as an example - as this is where I live.

Within touching distance Wigan have Bolton, Blackburn, Everton, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd all within 30 mins drive. Thats the same distance as the Valleys to the CCS. Despite this they still get a core support who consider themselves Latics or "MudHutters" and they will always remain proud Wigan Supporters. We are no different (except our crowds are significantly better).

In short I am not too bothered about losing some support to Swansea. What we lose we will make up 10xfold as we have the right structure in place for long term success as opposed to a couple of years of fame.

Swansea have had a good season. Swansea is 40 (FORTY) miles away. Thy have got their fan base, we have got ours. What are you getting worked up about? This happened thirty years ago. We survived. Football does not work like that :ayatollah:
