A trio of statues...

Mon Apr 16, 2012 2:29 pm

If we went up this year and suddenly had enough money to stick 3 statues up (A lot like Man Utd a few years back with Best, Law and Charlton). Who would you have?

For me it would be:
Keenor (already being done)
Eddie May (as a tribute to his time here)
And either Phil Dwyer(most appearances) or Whitts (if he takes us up). I think it would be fitting for Whitts to have one. After all he has made over 250 appearances for us in just 5 years, and has scored lots of goals/got lots of assists along the way. And if he scores the winning goal in the playoff final to take us up, then he would have to have it IMO

A lot of us have our different football heroes, so we could end up with statues right around the ground!

Fred Keenor and just leave it at that, I say.

Whitts would be a big no from me ,it should be past players and not present. Can you imagine how stupid it would look if a statue went up of whitts then he left us

We wouldn't have got the stadium under Hammam, it was Ridsdale that got the stadium with a huge amount of help from Steve Borley I believe. Although I appreciate I don't know the ins and outs, but I believe Hammam kept trying to get planning approval and he kept getting rejected until Ridsdale smoothed the talks over for it to be given the green light?

Getting back on topic, I think Eddie May deserves one! :ayatollah:
