Annis, Ridsdale says

""The HMRC issue a winding up petition to get you to the table. We were at the table some weeks ago. We reached agreement with them. As a result they agreed to withdraw which I was told would happen today. It did. Peter"

That statement sums up your Chairman . " Poppy Cock"

Firstly a winding up order is only issued if there is no offer of repayment or a payment plan agreed or negoiated between parties, it's certaintly not to get Debtors to the table for negoiations talks.

Today according to the Court records read earlier the date for repayment of all dues is Feb 3rd 2010, which is a stay of 70 days before the order will be executed.

So reading the above Cardiff City have basically 70 days to repay in excess of one million pounds to avoid being wound up. Not really an amicable agreement really .

Todays action was just to legally formalise the payment plan.

Probably due to the club not keeping up with previous agreed plans.

Its a last resort from HMRC.

The debt isnt even all that big, £500k according to someone who is usually in the know on this. Which is the equivalent to about 3 months PAYE arrears at most. it could easily be covered by the sale of a player if necessary and more than covered by the season ticket sales which have already been made.

There is a seperate question though, as to what happens next summer/autumn when the season ticket money has gone.

Stong rumours on the other board that sam has signed up for his deal as well.

Its not good, but for those from other clubs hoping it'll mean melt-down for us, then I reckon there wll only be 1 Christmas for you this year.
