Havnt read the article, but its something to do with policing costs, isnt it?
We've had plenty of non-policed games this season so I cant see any reason why they cant

relates to play offs in late 80s. Think 2 legs finished equal and 3rd game ended up being played at selhurst park. Can't remember all the ins and outs but its like a tamed down version of us and Leeds

Thanks for that fellas, can't say I remember it but it is a shame for both the teams and the fans that a football match could end up being played behind closed doors. I don't think it is the first time that it has happened though.

It wont happen. Same threats made by medway council prior to gills v sjoke in fa cup. No way will Gillingham turn down over 2000 away fans and crowd of over 8k when they are on verge of play offs.

A Gills fan told me it stems from the 70s, something to do with one of the teams being dirty and the ref siding with them. I'm sure it is on wikipedia, but can't check right now.

They hate each other, Fulham are also big rivals with Gillingham, think they stabbed a fulham fan and killed him years ago
