In the U.K . What would your choice be , and it can only be one thing.
Mine would have to be bringing back the good old terraces

Definitely terracing

To have an international football atmoshpere, especially during derbys. Much like Galatasary vs Fenerbahce , or Inter milan vs AC Milan, or Barcelona vs Real Madrid, the whole passionate fans, flares, flags, rioting etc

I class the tackle and the dive as one motion
Like a kick out from a keeper with the ball in his hand

Have a maximun wage so they remember who they are playing for us the fans. The modern player earns to much has no idea how to relate to the fans.

Has to be Wage Cap!! No doubt about it......
One of the reasons clubs go out of business and that ain't good for us fans!
Thu Apr 12, 2012 5:43 pm
Terracing that allows Flares, petrol bombs
You know, the average Turkish match
Thu Apr 12, 2012 5:46 pm
technology generally
Thu Apr 12, 2012 6:31 pm
3 things.
Bring back terracing
Embrace video technology
And my biggest annoyance of all - A sensible percentage of your match day squad must be homegrown, and when I mean homegrown, I mean if Wolves were playing Cardiff, your hearing Brummy and Cardiff accents coming out of the dressing rooms just like in the fifties. When Wolverhampton v Cardiff really meant that. Each team allowed 4 overseas players and must have say 5 players registered within a 30 mile radius when they were 15, (Bale for example). A pipe dream I know, but have always imagined a proper hometown club with hometown players. International football is the only genuine (apart from the grandparent rule) true 'local' sides. It will see moneys influence diminish and put the emphasis back on scouting local areas and the academies. Will never happen though! Would change football for the better
Imagine a South Wales derby, match day squads each with four or five Bluebirds and Jacks facing each other, the way it should be!!!! Dream on

Would you work somewhere with a maximum wage cap?
Of course not...
Clubs go out of business, shock horror, because they aren't run as businesses, fickle fans demand A N Other put their hand in their pocket and bankroll the latest, greatest signings, completely ignoring the economics.

The reason i said a wage cap for players was some of us are on mininum wage £6.8p per hour not £1000s a week. This is why clubs are in so much dept if you dont pay it they go elsewhere if you do pay it you get in BIG DEBT.
Thu Apr 12, 2012 8:07 pm
Bring back football specials and away fans boozing in town and city centres, terrifying shoppers and opposition fans.

You are right. Its the obscene salaries that are pricing the working class out of the game.

Bring back the aggressive atmosphere.

Do you know any other business that is allowed to operate at a considerable loss year after year, and can run up tax bills of hundreds of thousands?
Surely club finances have to be scrutinised and clubs made to trade within their means which would have to mean salary caps.
