Points Lost From Winning Positions

If we had gained a half of the points that we have lost from a winning position it is probable that we would have been promoted automatically:

Portsmouth A Draw 1-1 Opposition scored 80th min 2 points dropped
Blackpool A Draw 1-1 62nd min 2 points dropped
Hull A Lost 1-2 71st min 1 point lost
Peterborough A Lost 3-4 87,92 mins 3 points dropped
Leeds A Draw 1-1 73rd min 2 points dropped
Coventry A Draw 1-1 61st min 2 points dropped
Boro H Lost 2-3 60 & 76 mins 3 points dropped
Saints A Draw 1-1 57th min 2 points dropped
Blackpool H Lost 1-3 79,83 &91 mins 3 points dropped
Brighton A Draw 2-2 89 min 2 points dropped
Coventry H Draw 2-2 95 min 2 points dropped
Watford H Draw 1-1 82 min 2 points dropped

Please correct me if I'm wrong but thats 26 points that we have dropped after being in a winning position. Many of those goals have been late on. A disappointing stat which has been going on throughout the season. We find it extremly difficult holding onto a lead. Tactics/sitting back ? instead of going for that extra goal ourselves?

Thats the problem, we sit back after taking the lead

One word for these stats: shocking!!!

Sitting back and not pressing higher up the pitch has cost us most of those points

Thats work for the summer, get a better defensive coach in and get stronger full backs in. Those 26 points dropped would be far less, around 10 dropped if Malky strengthens at the back

And I maintain we need a destroyer in the middle, perhaps Kiss if he stays will play more.

Dont forget though that there are games that we should've lost but ended up drawin, and games that we were drawin but scored late on, eg snatchin the late winner at WHU etc, i think it pretty much evens itself out over a season, although i agree that the stats for points lost for us is shockin!

I agree about the summer, but too me its not the defence, it about the lack a of a credible offence.

Teams come to the CCS and try to defend, when we score they are forced to come out, we do not have the weapons to exploit the space when they push up.

I do not hold a single coaching badge and nor I am a football analyst but to me it is strikingly obvious, so I fully expect Malkys recruitment team to identify and recruit a genuine 9 to battle Kenny and at least three speed merchants.

The goalie,back four and midfield central 3 are solid. could do with cover at full back though.

We've drawn more games than anyone else in the Championship this season and I've seen a number of them where we were winning and should've finished off the opposition - Coventry and Watford at home to name two.

We need a captain on the pitch to kick some arse when the midfield is too deep in the 2nd half - something we don't have, at the moment.
