If you accept that you must play your best players in midfield then Whitts/Gunnar/McPhail have to start.
However, that leaves us with two excellent passers in Whitts and McPhail and a box to box player like Gunnar.
I believe we need a strong tackler in midfield who is mobile (that rules out Lawrence/Ralls)
Kiss for me would provide that balance. Thought he did well today and it was a pity that he did not replace Conway in the first half as Lawrence and McPhail together makes us far too pedestrian.
I would love to see us go 4-4-1-1 with Mason playing behind Kenny.
Again that out two best forwards playing in their best position.
Width would have to come from the fullbacks and maybe a change could be accommodated from the bench with Cowie and Darcy covering the fullbacks.
All is not lost. We have four games to get 9 points and without doubt Brighton and Boro have harder games left then we do.
Lets this be the Kiss of life rather than the Kiss of death
