Thought we had a good first half, players seem to be getting forward to support Miller, in particular Conway and Gunnarrson. Conway going off had a big effect on us going forward but we still managed to take the lead in a decent first half. Second half we dropped way to deep, to many players making bad decisions.
THE TURNING POINT
In my opinion and the reason we dropped two points was the substitute to bring on Robert Earnshaw on 78mins and MM has to take total responsibility for that. At this point we were winning the game 1-0 and playing 4-5-1.
Why change to 4-4-2 when we already had our backs to the wall and bring on a striker who has absolutely no ability to hold the ball up. I said at the time of the sub that this would either make or break us but more likely to break us, then we conceded 3 minutes later. Its not a dig at Earnie as he did what was expected of him but MM should never have used him.
Marshall 6 - had very little to do really
Kev 3 - big kev fan but he was very poor today, got up and down but his distribution was even worse than usual and made to many mistakes
Hudson 7 - solid enough
Turner 6 - A little sloppy and why didn't he do a gypes in the 94th minute, it could have cost us.
Taylor 6 – An erratic performance, going well one minute then looked more other moments.
Conway 7 – Hard to judge as he was only on for 38mins, looked dangerous and everything we had been lacking in midfield in recent weeks.
Wittingham 4 – Thought he was very poor today, offered nothing to the team in any way.
McPhail 6 – Not his best game but I think the best way to judge him is when he is not on the pitch we don’t look half the team.
Cowie 6 – Good ball in for Millers goal and did ok
Gunnarrson 6 – Had a good first half but like so many others struggled in the second.
Miller 7 – Little service but good goal and unlucky not to get a second
SUBS
Lawrence 3 – He has a decent pass on him which he uses every now and then but other than that he offers nothing at all to the team.
Kiss 6 – Gave a bit more energy to the midfield and his passing was better than other times. It was hard for him when everything around him seemed to be falling apart.
Earnshaw 5 – Did what was expected of him, minimal impact should never have been brought on.
MM – 5 I felt he got the first 11 pretty much spot on, maybe Blake will feel hard done by for not starting but then again at home I think Kev should offer more going forward. But my opinion is that the Earnshaw sub cost us 2 points today, wrong player, wrong time, wrong formation
Officials 0/10 just truly awful once again, the linesman infront of the bob bank had no idea what he was doing.
