THAT WAS DIFFICULT

Mon Apr 09, 2012 5:59 pm

I thought that we had to work hard for that point, there was passages of play, especially the first half that gives hope the remaining 4 games.

Aron Gunnarsson work his nuts off today and I thought he deserved a goal. His running beyond Miller give King Kenny the support he desperately needed.

Miller himself looked much better today and I was glad he got himself a goal with a very good finish.

Gutted for Conway, i thought that could have been a sending off.

Overall that was a hard fought point and we are making strides to get back to our early season form.

Carl it was below average again but I appreciate you attempting to put a gloss on the fact that we made a very average team like watford look decent.

the two players you highlighted were on their own for performance today.. watford were a very poor team and we should have comfortably beaten them

Something that hasn't been mentioned much is how much Conway's departure affected the game. When he went off our width and pace out wide went. We looked dangerous down that side every time he got it and, without sounding cynical, I wouldn't be surprised if Dyche ordered someone to take Conway out.

first 10 min was good, after that. it went downhill. watford didnt look anything special. and we made hard work. players miss passing all the time. kev still not playing well along with the others. getting to the playoffs is going to take luck. as the football side aint working.

Your right Carl there were some very good passages of play but overall we were outplayed in my opinion. Having said that we created the better chances and KM was so unlucky not to get a second when he hit the post, Gunnar was also really unlucky with the header that was pushed over the bar. Quite how Hudson managed to miss from 2 yards out I will never no and the disappointment for me is that any one of those chances taken and we would be happy with a win today.

MM has said that Craig Conway has gone to hospital for a check up on a suspected broken ankle so fingers crossed it's not.

Watford have to play Hull, Brighton and Middlesbrough so they can still help us out but right now I'm looking at Leicester and thinking are we in for a final day disappointment again.

I hope not.

Shocking officials were today, however we were our own worst enemy, we simply can't rely on the officials to do their jobs properly and we could have and should have won that game with the chances we had today. It's true Watford weren't great and to be honest if they had finished their chances they could have actually taken all 3 points. Also I reckon Conway was deliberately taken out of the game today. I hope the Watford player that did that gets the same done to him and totally fucks his career up! The dirty stunt!

But overall we simply have to score more goals and not let ruined chances and missed opportunities affect the outcome of anything other than a win.

I dont like this league.

no one is playing well everyone is beating everyone, boro are as bad as us so are blackpool, even birmingham, although when birmingham turn up they are top 2 calibre.

southampton have lambert and thats all that seprates them from the rest of the chasing pack, West ham are strong so are leicester...
It's tough out their mind!!
it seems we cant get back the confidence

Totally disagree sorry Carl I felt we gifted them the goal by sitting to deep and going forward we were slow and clueless we could of won that game today and for me the negative attitude of parking the bus when we scored resulted in the draw.

Miller apart from his goal was totaly isolated up front AND i would have swapped whits with gunnarsson to play him further forward.I left the game fealing like we lost. Boreing negative football is what I saw today and if it continues we will strugle to achieve the playoffs.Good season yes but it feals like we are throwing it all away.

I agree completely. We probably should have won but thanks to the win on Saturday we haven't lost too much ground.

There are some miserable people on this board who only want to knock the team, when they should be trying to encourage them. We know the team get feedback from whats on the board even if they don't read it, so how about the gloom-merchants just shutting up if they've got nothing to say. It makes me angry!

But if we DO reach the playoffs, that boring negative football could really cause problems to the other teams :ayatollah: :D

If we do reach the playoffs I will support the club like the next man but its a worry at the moment we just didt perform in the second half today again after we scored.

Re: " THAT WAS DIFFICULT "

There were parts about the game that I enjoyed today but note that we only managed about 3 shots on target all game. This seems to be the norm for most of the season. We never seem to trouble the oppositions goalkeeper.
Why do we insist on putting crosses in the air as we never seem to score when the penalty box is full. I know Miller scored with the head today but he was unopposed and got in a great position with a free header.
We seem to also lack energy as we dont close the opposition players down too often and today we seemed to let Watford knock the ball around at will in the 2nd half. :(

Re: " THAT WAS DIFFICULT "

Todays performance proved to me what I have been thinking this the trip to Boro. Our win there was a smokescreen. After watching that game I felt Boro were more poor than us being good. Today Boro lost to an out of form Hull. Boro are poor so forget them being a play off challenger. So taking that into account and seeing how we played in the second half if we are to make the playoff I honestly believe it is down to the other clubs challenging. That is it is there for them to take it away from us.

There are 3 teams that worry me now, Brighton, Blackpool and Leicester. Brighton worry me the least because of their run in, its horrific. Leicester I believe can catch and overtake us. Its Blackpool we are going to have to beat for the final playoff place. Their run in is on the same level as ours as far as ease goes. As I said its there for the other teams to take it away from us because we are far from getting back to form.

There is no way we will win the playoffs, if Leicester manage to get in then forget it completely. Brum and Blackpool too, bollox to it, I fancy a summer off playoff disappointment ta. This last few weeks is painfully paining....

That's ridiculous. Some people just expect us to win every game comfortably. Watford are not a poor side - they had won 5 of their last 8 games coming into this game and lost only 1. How does that make them a poor side?

People need to get a grip and realise you have to fight for every point in this league.

I think you're right that we're going to have to finish above Blackpool. I'm concerned we'll fall just short but have far from given up hope. Anything is possible.

What the 1st 20 mins ? After that we were utter crap and played the worst football I've seen in years and worst still , the player just didn't want it , or knew what they were doing .

It was a shocking game by Cardiff , truth be told

With a days less rest than Watford I thought it really made a difference. A match that could have been far different given the slight margins. Miller hit post at 1-0, Hogg should have walked after challenge on Conway, this is on top of a team that were worked hard just 48 hours previously at Boro where again had the ref had made the right call, we would have played 86+ minutes against a team with no recognised keeper, could have been less of a workout for us.

C'Mon Carl don't give me the excuses and lets stop blaming the Ref and what not, we should have been out of sight the 1st 20 mins and when we gone ahead we should have pushed forward and killed them off . If we can't beat a team that played has poor has Watford did we've got no chance and its nothing to do with having an extra 24hrs rest (what utter bull) We've been playing poor since Christmas time.. I mean how many more times do we need to hoof the ball in the air to realise that Miller can't win a Header ? if it was down to tiredness how come in time added on after 90 mins we started to play football and pass the ball ?

We're not even playing football any more that's our biggest problem and explain why so many of the fans are getting rather peed off and leaving early (even some of the co called die hards on here now leave early) and you can list the piss poor excuses all you want, Truth be told is we're no better off that under Jones ...its the same old story and the same old hoof the ball up into the Air and hope for the best and that's the worst part is that our football (or rather lack of it) is just the same and there's no sign of improvement and we've got a total lack of class in the squad and the squad just don't want it , or know what to do with the Football .

Its piss poor we need to start blaming the players and staff for that
