" LETS ALL LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE "

Mon Apr 09, 2012 5:29 pm

Yes the second half once again we had our backs to the wall, but we are 6th in the league, a play-off position at this stage of the season and we've been to the Carling Cup Final, which turned out to be one of my greatest ever City games in the last 39 years of following them.

We could still go up, we could end up back at Wembley again, there is still everything to play for. :ayatollah:

I will admit Malky has played some boring football at home this season with one up front, I still cant understand it, but over all I have loved this season, the passion/battling/pride and the never say die attitude on the pitch has been a breath of fresh air.
Away from home we have done really well and I for one have really enjoyed it. Boro away we played some of our best football this season in the first half. :ayatollah:

Of course I want to go up and want success now, but Rome was not built in a day as they say.

Come May, what ever happens I will say well done Cardiff City and Malky.

Now next season after Malky has got rid of at least 9 players and brought in at least 10 players I will really judge him.
Malky has made many mistakes along the way, but he is young and still learning, hopefully he will learn from them and the 20 odd players next season will all be his. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I am amazed how short some memories are. Remember the high of just over a month ago? This squad owes us nothing for this season after what they've given. The tactical and player availability issues aside, we are playing players that are running on empty so have to remember all they have given already.

If the season ended now then I'd be well chuffed even if we missed out on the playoffs. The remaining four games are bonus games with nothing to lose! :ayatollah:

IT'S GOING TO THE WIRE & WE HAVE AS GREAT A CHANCE AS BORO & BRIGHTON.

EVEN IF WE CAN'T LIMP OVER THE LINE, IT'S BEEN AN ENJOYABLE SEASON & CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.

totally agree with u annis, even though i myself have been frustrated with the latter half of the season, we have been to wembley and played superbly and very much could go bk there this season, and all this with an almost brand new team put together by a brand new manager, so like u say rome wasn't built in a day, so i think we should all focus more on the positives and less on the negatives, next season will be the real test, weather it's pushing for promotion, or trying to remain in the top flight!! but for now..IN MALKY WE TRUST :ayatollah:

Whilst I do agree, in principle, I don't think the back up players are good enough to come in and do a job bar the odd one. I think Blake, Kiss and even Quinn could do a job but after that we're struggling.

after being so positive after the boro result, i fail to see anything positive from that game today.. it was a shocker..

one thing i am pleased with though is miller getting a goal, and to be fair he deserved another.

I think with the formation we are playing we will win both of our away games but struggle against leeds and derby at home. Will 7 points be enough from 4 games? probably not but weve had a good season andi honestly belive we can only get better. We are still going to have a full squad here unlike last season and im sure with investment malky will keep us moving in the right direction
If we didn t have the potential to be a very good side we would not have beaten boro on saturday and have that amazing carling cup run

Yeah, overall I'm happy with how our season has gone! If anything though I thought we would have had a stronger second half of the season and had a slow first half of the season with all the changes that were made in the summer I was thinking maybe we would have got stronger and stronger as the season went on, instead its seems to have gone the other way, although like you say annis, the season aint over yet and we are still in the hunt :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yea ok Annis fair point overall for the season BUT today again was utter shit mate and I am a proud city fan.We score and we park the bus again ,no tempo,no width,no service to miller apart from his goal ,Whitts to deep etc.

The whole watch is painfull and negative a contrast to Malkys team at the start of the season,Sorry but the overall position is a good one but of late we have been shit apart from boro.As a passionate fan its feals like we a throwing a very good position away and its pissing me off.Negative boring football why oh why set a team up to play like that I dont get it.

I agree with you Annis, what I would add though is....you need a bit of form going into the playoffs and we are only showing it in patches.....can't see us going up this season.

It was points lost not point gained today negative park the bus football we scored the goal for them someone needs to find the keys for the bus and move it off the 18 yard line.I am not one of these arseholes on here I love the city and we are lucky to still be in it.It FEELS like we are throwing it all way that today was so frustrating again.

If he gets rid of 9 players he needs to bring in more than 10 or we will still have a small squad same as this season. We need a big squad if we want to challenge for the premiership next season!

Cracking post Annis. :ayatollah:

I mean...look at the top 5 apart from
Southampton today, they have all dropped points. :ayatollah:

Tues Brighton host Reading....hopefully Brighton won't win that which will keep us 6th with all games even.

Personally I wish all our remaining games were away as we seem to be a lot more confident than when we are 'expected' to hump teams every game at home.

But If we can keep up the good work with a win at Barnsley and as poor as they have been we cannot underestimate them, then I say we will keep that momentum going until the remaining fixtures and take the 6th spot.

Re: " LETS ALL LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE "

Tue Apr 10, 2012 6:17 am

The football we are playing is shocking, teams have worked us out and its painful to watch !

Yes, Malky has made some BIG mistakes, none more so than the loan signing of Liam Lawrence !

I don't wish to slag players off, but he had ANOTHER nightmare yesterday !

Re: " LETS ALL LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE "

Tue Apr 10, 2012 6:56 am

Malky started the season with 442 with Earnie & Miller upfront which didnt really work at times but when Rudy and 1 of the other 2 played the 442 it seemed better ..... then came Blackpool away and the 1st 541 game and City battered thm that day and have more or less stuck with it all season . Maybe the lack of signing another bigger striker and Rudy's injuries have tied Malky's hands into playing the way we do . Next season as said 9 will go and another 9 or 10 may come in and then and only then will it be Malky's choice of squad ..... BUT what happens should we make and win the play offs , how many will come and go then ??? :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:

Re: " LETS ALL LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE "

Tue Apr 10, 2012 8:33 am

Well to be honest ,apart from 4 which is Marshall Kev and Hudson Whitts all the other players were players that Malky brought in. and to be even more honest them 4 were the main stay of the team yesterday. Ok we all know sup Kev is not at his best but apart from him the other 3 of Hudson Whitts & Marshall were the only ones that I would say were worth anything. Conway made an game of it till he went off ,and Big Ben was again ok at the back ,but he dont have the speed to recover and we have seen this time after time.

Malky will have to bring in nearly a full team for next season, as I dont think we have the quality at this time.
Also if we are going for the prem next season the players will have to be of really good quality , the thing is will the top guys here put that kind of money up front ? will they have the confidence in Malky ? after the shit he has put up and keep playing a striker that cant put goals away, and leaves other strikers on the bench .

Re: " LETS ALL LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE "

Tue Apr 10, 2012 8:39 am

I agree wcd, we are going to need at least 11 new quality players next season, if we are to really push on. :old:

Re: " LETS ALL LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE "

Well I'm off for a while, but after witnessing a superb performance at Boro and then seeing a hard fought draw against Watford(a dirty/bully team who are inform) leaving us in the top of this division with just a few games, yes I am happy for this season and I mean this season. Before the Boro game I really thought our season was over, but its def not and we are 6th and I am def not complaining as we can beat any one at their ground if we make the play-offs and we are still very hard to beat at home.
