He played some good football at the City Ian ive watched four years of him in charge of the city and don't forget Bothroyde was yous center forward at the time and they played to his strengths with Chopra playing off him! It was only a few games back they were slagging Malkey off and wishing you still had Jones in charge!

Everytime I see his name being mentioned, it makes me realise how lucky we are to have got rid of him

6th highest win rate of any Cardiff City manager and he managed that over 6 years. Got us to an FA Cup final, and had us competing in the playoffs 2 years running. We missed out so, so closely over those two years and managed to keep us in contention for far longer than others would have.

His track record is brilliant. Promotion with Wolves and Stockport as well as turning us into promotion contenders. If we'd been in a better financial situation under him I think we'd have gone up years ago. We lost out on some big players at key times, and he did well to replace these players. In the end though, after two playoff defeats too many fans had lost faith in him.

Sheffield Wednesday have got a great manager, more than capable of getting them promoted and I wouldn't be suprised if he did just that. That said, I think it'll be a while before fans here can look back and appreciate what DJ did for us. He didn't get us promoted but he gave the club and the fans the belief to dream big and was so, so close to delivering Premier League football.

But that's football. Where would Avram Grant be if he'd won the Champions League title while he was at Chelsea? All but a few inches means he's at Partizan Belgrade now and not at Chelsea. And the same applies to Dave Jones. If we'd won promotion he wouldn't be manager of Sheffield Wednesday right now. Funny ol' game.

Up until he went to you, you would always have been the team that I wanted to get promoted this season from League 1.

However, I've got little time for old 'moans' and I genuinely think that he'll get you within a whisker of getting up (how he's performed so far is exactly what I thought would happen), but he will fail at the last hurdle.

I really don't care who the manager is,as long as he brings success to our club he will do for me,to go as far as not liking a team because you don't like the manager is a bit overboard in my opinion,but that my opinion only! I will be cheering my beloved Owls on tomorrow down canton watching it on sky then i will be sat in the Canton stand cheering on the City! The team whoever the manager is!

Well if you consider watching the likes of Swansea, Norwich and Wigan a catch us up and over take no Jones did not do well for us. We were a championship club when he came and was when he got the sack. Idont buy into this he did well for us at all.

Regarding the 4,000 crowds I've been to Ninian when we had 51,000 in it. All we are now is where we should have been for the last 40 years. If anyone who should take the praise of getting us away fromthe 4,000 that has to go to Sam Hamman.

Jones was given everything here, more than any other manager and he failed. Your on a high at the moment Sam, Jones has just started with you, doing well. He started well with us but just look at how it all ended and he had the nerve to blame everyoneelse but himself. Hope you dont suffer the same Sam.

IN Malky I trust you are welcome to Jonesy, I won't slag off what he did here but his time definitely run its course, we had to have a change as the end of last season proved. Best of luck to you for the rest of the season the championship is a much better division with the likes of yourselves and Sheff Utd. Although I am clinging onto the hope that we won't be playing either of you next season

There alot of people i go out drinking with and go to watch the City with on this forum and they have been up to watch the Owls with me, we have sensible conversations and they have a mind of their own,Its a football forum for everyone to talk about whatever team you support not just Cardiff. Saying that ive watched Cardiff more than most on here with the comments they put on,i bet some of them have never even been to the game with what i read!

I thought dave jones done a sterling job at cardiff! Gave us some of our best years! Granted, it went a bit titsup last season but in my opinion that was more down to the players egos and there couldn't give a shit attitude! A new chalenge was just the tonic he needed and I'm glad to see he's doing well, sheff wednesday got a top fanbase, be nice to see them get promoted, deffo to big for the league there in now

That's not true Ian. DJ had to regularly sell best players. Alan Cork and Lennie were given a lot to spend without having to sell. If DJ didn't have to sell players he would have taken us up. Yes he had a good budget but only what Malky has this year and he had to deal in frees and loans a lot of the time.
