Wolf reintroduction to the UK

Sat Apr 07, 2012 8:37 pm

Watched Land of the Lost Wolves in the week. Very good documenatry about reintroducing Wolves into areas where they had been wiped out . Theres been talk about bringing Wolves back to the UK , just wondered what peoples opinion would be on this, as I would support it but many wouldn't.

Countryside is being eaten up by urbanisation. Could these wolfs be attracted to the towns and become more of a problem?

It would be rare if they did as they are shit scared of humans, if food was hard to come by then they might, but theres shit load of dear and wildlife to scran on. Bring em back I say, would increase the tourism industry ten fold.

When they got reintroduced to Yellow Stone Park in the States the Park took $3 million extra in tourism. Would be good for the UK, more Scotland tho.

They have bred them in the Highlands just in case it ever gets the go ahead. As much as it would restore a balance to the eco system up there that is plagued by too many deer, it won't happen because farmers would object on the grounds that they may take one sheep a year even though they would be compensated if that did happen and there is probably now insufficient wilderness areas for them to be able to survive in peace. Farmers also like to enforce the myth that wolves eat babies etc etc when in truth they are exceptionally shy animals.

Farmers will moan about anything... Foxes, badgers, birds of pray, rabbits etc farmers see everything as pests pfft along with bus drivers, farmers are the most miserable gloomy kunts on the planet lol I'm sure we could designate a few areas in places like snowdonia national park north wales and the highlands of scotland without taking up to much "precious” farmland!! I for one think it would be great for the u.k! Be a good way of getting the playstation generation more intrested in our wildlife and getting outdoors also :ayatollah:
