" A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD "

On Wednesday I wrote :

"Cardiff City have a 17 year old lad in the Under 18 squad called Tommy O'Sullivan, he is a midfielder/forward player with bags of skill.

Tommy has come throught the development centre and into our academy and is thought of very highly at our club.

He has been offered a five year professional contract with the club plus a signing on fee.

Premiership clubs have made enquiries about him and they include Aston Villa and Man Utd, hopefully Tommy will sign up with the City.

I am pleased the club are trying to sign up the stars of the future and we will keep seeing the benefit of our academy system as a result."




I can tell you this evening that Tommy has signed the 5 year deal and accepted the signing on fee as well, good news for the club and hopefully a decision to sign up Tommy will reap rewards for years to come.

This is what I want to see, more young guns getting into the squad, hopefully he'll get some game time.

Great news we should never let local tallent go lets hope for a few more seems to have dried up over the last few years.

Glad the lads signed. hopefully a few more to come.

He'll defo be in early cup rounds next season then, and hopefully he will be good enough to get into the league squad on merit, not just in an injury crisis.
Could he be another Ramsey? Or Ralls?
Hopefully we wont end up selling him to a club where he will never get game time, just a year into his contract.

Exciting to see we have players coming through and MM buying players like Ralls, Harris and initially mason to develope in the academy. This was DJ's massive failure.

Great news, especially on a five year contract, we're able to keep hold on to the player alot longer. Shame they werent able to do that with Adam Matthews at the time.

I believe Tommy O'Sullivan has a very bright future with Cardiff, and seeing him play against Spurs and Port Talbot, I would place him on a similar category to Aaron Ramsey in terms of technical ability, skill and fitness.
