Hes done Merthyr and Wales proud mate.

Yes, hes had a patchy career, and never fulfilled his promise until now. He would admit that himself.

Couldnt wish to meet a more down to earth lad though, very well liked, and what he lacked in quality compared to his opponent, he Wanted it ten times more tonight.

As he said "A good chin and a massive heart".

Well done Hopey :ayatollah:

My old man was one of JOs sparring partners mate. Sportsnight come to the gym to do piece on him in the build up
and the feature ends with me hitting the bag as a 4 year old with the voice over "Is this the next jonny owen?."

The first time I seen my father cry when my grandfather wslked up our house (no phones then ) to say they switched off the life support.

The fella who he boxed, Pintor, come over to open the statue. Very sad.

My old man said JO was the fittest man you would ever meet. Also very shy and humble. Far removed from the bixers of today.

The Sanatorium hill is hard enoughto drive up let alone run
