" League One Sheffield Wednesday want former Liverpool striker Fowler for promotion push "
By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER
PUBLISHED: 22:28, 16 March 2012
Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones wants Robbie Fowler, 36, who failed to agree terms with Blackpool when they offered him £90 a week and £5,000 a game.
Jones is considering a deal until the end of the season.

shirt sales must be low
Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:37 pm
£90 week
wednesday must be dead certs for promotion,i dont think even jones could f**k it up
Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:44 pm
Hopefully he'll take a few more of the jokers Malky wants to unload . I'll drive the minibus to Sheffield myself !
Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:52 pm
Why dont they have Eddie as well? Or Leo, or JET? Give them Rudy as well, just to finish the promotion charge off.
Seriously though, he might actually be able to do something at that level if he's not constantly injured.
Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:29 pm
He's looking sharp in training apparently!!
Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:41 pm
He's history, don't let him bother you he's not worth the effort.
Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:42 pm
Blackpool said they wanted him, Holloway said publically, the experience he'd have as a coach would be brilliant too, pay per game sounds fair.
Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:49 pm
Fowler pays for himself with merchandise. It raises the profile of the club in League One and if he chips in with a couple of goals...bonus. Makes sense to me
Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:59 pm
He's a has been! We don't want him!
Sat Mar 17, 2012 2:01 pm
that was always the trouble with dave jones when he was here, always looking for a short term mix of players coming to the end of their careers and loan signings, although jones found and developed good players like whittingham, McCormack & Bothroyd, not many young players come through the ranks under jones

That was a major problem with him, liked to hit the headlines with big names, even they were past their sell by dates.

You really are obsessed with Dave Jones. For god's sake let it go. You got your wish when the club got rid of him so why keep going on about him. I just hope that your beloved Malky can live up to all the hype and exiectati

So I am not allowed to comment on the above.

This is a forum and opinions on football are welcome, your on the wrong forum.
I never got my wish, he should of been sacked after the 6 nil defeat by Preston and then 3 nil at home to Ipswich.

Let's hope he is still our manager in 4,5 or even 10 years time because that will mean he had proved what a good manager he is.

Your entitled to your opinions, Malky is still learning, young/keen/energetic/passionate/knows how to get the best out of a team,he will make mistakes, even Alex Ferguson does.

Totally agree and like I said I hope Malky is here for a long long time and gets proper backing from the owners. Good luck to Dave Jones and I hope he does well where ever he is except when playing us!

I have no worries Sam

He should not fail for you, took over your club 9pts clear in the play offs,3rd in the league, first two games at home to Bury/Bournemouth, hardly any games left.

4,500 Owls fans at Notts County today should hopefully see us get another 3pts!

Hard game today!

I deal on a pay as you play for the rest of the season makes sense.

That does Luke, but Fowler turned Holloway's offer down, which I thought was fair.

Yeah.
Maybe even paying him a wage until the end of the season is worth the risk. It wouldn't be much and at that level he would have to be an asset.
