You get BT FON with some providers, normally a few GB on an iPhone.
Click home screen, then settings and check if your WI-FI is turned on. If it is; you'll probably be connecting to 'Auto Wi-Fi''.
Two things to do...
a) Turn off Wi-Fi and connect to safari via 3G
b) Top left corner of BT FON webpage, click sign in. Choose your network provider, and sign in... You'll now automatically connect whenever FON is in range, and save your 3G allowance.
