TEAM NEWS

Cardiff striker Rudy Gestede misses out with a hamstring strain so Robert Earnshaw could come into the side.
The game comes too early for midfielder Stephen McPhail, who is back in training after illness.
Burnley striker Junior Stanislas could make his first start for two months after recovering from a hamstring problem suffered earlier in the year.
Top goalscorer Jay Rodriguez, who was taken off at half-time against Crystal Palace, should be fit to play.
MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
• These clubs have gone toe-to-toe 78 times in league and cup over nine decades, and there is only two wins between them; Cardiff have won 29, Burnley 27.
• Their most recent clash was in October when Cardiff won 1-0 at home in the fourth round of the Carling Cup on their way to the final. The last three league meetings have all been 1-1 draws.
• This fixture provided one of Cardiff's club record winning margins, when they trounced the Clarets 7-0 in the top-flight in September 1928.
Cardiff City
• The Bluebirds were trounced 3-0 home to Hull midweek, and have won only two of their last nine Championship games to leave them just outside the play-off zone.
• Malky Mackay's Carling Cup runners-up have been given no fewer than four own goals in the league this term, including both in the 2-1 win over Bristol City last weekend.
• They have failed to score in only six of their 36 Championship outings, but three of those have occurred in the last five games.
Burnley
• Mid-table Burnley gained their first point in four outings from a 1-1 home draw with Crystal Palace last Saturday. They go to the Cardiff City Stadium in a three-match losing run away from home.
• The Clarets are the only club without a draw away from home in the Championship this season.
• Jay Rodriguez has maintained his scoring run with eight goals in Burnley's last 10 league games. On the three occasions in that run he did not score, neither did the team.
