" ANOTHER FUTURE PROSPECT "

Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:34 pm

Cardiff City have a 17 year old lad in the Under 18 squad called Tommy O'Sullivan, he is a midfielder/forward player with bags of skill.

Tommy has come throught the development centre and into our academy and is thought of very highly at our club.

He has been offered a five year professional contract with the club plus a signing on fee.

Premiership clubs have made enquiries about him and they include Aston Villa and Man Utd, hopefully Tommy will sign up with the City.

I am pleased the club are trying to sign up the stars of the future and we will keep seeing the benefit of our academy system as a result.

I have seen him play quite a few times and i think he's an outstanding player.
I commented on him on here after the spurs youth game and also after kadeem harris debut. he has a great first touch, always finds space and has always seems to have loads of time on the ball. he is definitely one who will soon be in our first team set up and i hope sees sense and signs for us for the betterment of his career instead of chasing the flashing lights :ayatollah:

Dave Jones major failure IMO was not doing enough work bring through the younger players hence we had no squad once the loans went back.
Yes I know the first team squad needs strengthening before anyone says it but bringing in the likes of Ralls, Mason, Harris to work with in the academy and improve is a good way to move forward.

I think more players would be willing to stay and give it a go at getting 1st team games with us now that malky is in charge, look at ralls, he's come through and been given the chance, dave jones just wasn't giving the youngsters a chance.

Agree with all the comments a very skill full and clever player He one area that may let him down his is lack of pace. however his speed of thought may help him out in this department.

if I was to compare him in someway to a player we have at moment I think Whitts is the closest type of player to him So lack of pace may not be an issue

Well done Tommy

Tommy is playing for the U21s tonight at Port Talbot along with our other youngsters Anthony Gerrard and Dekel Keinan.

I believe Mason was also bought to be put in the youth team but was just to good.

Besides its not as if they are going to make these kids stars over night, they will get a chance when they are good enough. For now the academy is working with them to improve. You wont get instant success just by throwing kids into the team for the sake of it.

Signed him up on Football Manager 2012 after playing a few pre-season friendlies. He's well good.

Adeiji Oshilala and Kevin St Luce are pretty good according to what I've seen on Cardiff City player too. I always watch the development highlights

Good young player.

His brother used to be with the city youth a few years back before heading out to play for Newport, Bath City, Merthyr etc

Hope the lad does well
