" FED UP OF MANAGERS/FANS BLAMING OFFICIALS "

Wed Mar 14, 2012 2:32 pm

I wish Managers/fans would stop blaming officials when results don't go our way, yes they make mistakes and some go our way/some don't it evens out over a season. :ayatollah:

You make your own luck in football. You win games by scoring goals and not making silly mistakes in defence.

I would say it depends on the situation annis.
I thought Mark Hughes was very calm saturday considering his team had the ball 2 foot over the line in there biggest game of the season which would have seen them take the lead, not given and they ending up losing.
When managers blame pointless little things to deflect blame that bugs!

Hughes couldnt say much, if the officials did there job correctly they shouldnt have had a corner in which the "goal" was scored and the goal they scored were offside

I think everyone has a right to have a go at the officials, they were poor throughout yesterday, if they did there job correctly the score may have been different.

However they didnt and in the end we were well beaten despite the poor decisions

I agree, I was not happy with him either, but and I mean but, on the night we were 2nd best and thats what we have to be asking ourselves, why were we ?

To be fair Annis, I agree to some extent. At the game its easy to blame officials because you are caught up in the atmosphere but afterwards when you look back you think sometimes (yesterday an example) we didn't play well enough to get anything from the game.

However having said that, when we get ugly performances and come away with a gritty point or 3 pts ie Bristol City we are all happy afterwards, naturally. Yesterday could have been one of those games where we grind out a result even playing as poorly as we did if Turner's goal had been given. And given the old cliche 'A sign of a good team is grinding out results even if they play badly', I really feel that Linesman has a lot to answer for. One mistake is bad enough(at a crucial time) but the clear offside as well. Not good enough for me although I accept our performance wasn't great either!

Its a real bug bear of mine to be honest. Every manager does it so its not exclusive to Malky but I would much prefer some honesty. Especially last night when we we were clearly 2nd best. He would get more respect of me if he just held his hands up said it was a bad day at the office, the players didnt perform and we will look to put it right on Sunday.

Taking usfor fools blaming the officials.

Take Tony Pulis for example. Proper old school, got loads of respect for him. Didnt even try and defend Fuller last Saturday. Called him "Stupid" which he was. If thats was say Andy Caroll then Kenny Dalgish would have blamed everyone except Andy Caroll and LFC.

In fact Kennys taken the excuse of the decade when he come out after a defeat earlier in the season and said the performance was good and that matters more than the result. WTF :?
