We've won the FA Cup and NEARLY won the Carling Cup so let's give the English a chance and go back to our roots.

It would financially ruin the club from progressing.
I bet once we got into Europe people would want more players to compete

I fully agree, would love to go Europe with City. Was too young to make the trip to Liege etc. The fact we were so close to Europe was far worse than missing out on the Carling Cup few weeks back.

Both Cardiff and the Swans should extend the middle finger to the FAW as quickly as possible, join the FA fully as we play in their system and be done with it.

On the plus side the FAW have been fairly leniant to their biggest member over the years.![]()
Cant remember what game it was but we got dealt with by the FAW, and I think it was Reading, got done by the English FA and we got off much lighter.

Didn't you get a suspension overturned for the FA cup final as well?![]()
If the FAW honestly wanted to have links with Swansea and Cardiff, then get the youth teams (under 19/21's) playing in the League of Wales, they still play in the youth Welsh cup! Swansea and Cardiff youth teams getting half decent competitive games, probably bigger crowds than the dross that they've got in there now and more than likely finishing top 2 every season.

In theory it could be two average europe game every couple of seasons

Being in Europe would be great for a couple of years but fans would soon get bored of travelling around Europe spending thousands of pounds and getting our asses kicked.
Would we get many in for the welsh cup games? of course not, 1000 if lucky maybe.
Massive loss from the Carling Cup and FA Cup games each season.
The sponsorship and TV revenue for a team entering Europe through the welsh cup is very minimal.
The sponsorship and TV revenue for a team entering Europe through the English route is huge.
People will say its not about money and I tend to agree but to me this would be trying to gain something for the short term and ruining everything in the long term.
