Corporate Beggars

Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:05 am

Every game at the CCS we have buckets rattled in our faces....Soldiers last night, Nicky Piper at the West Ham game.

Give us a break.....it's expensive enough as it is.

I am someone that do give to charity, but I dont like to be harassed for my donations.

I gave Nick a couple of quid at the West Ham game, but we are old mates. He works for George Thomas Hospice Care which is a very good cause.

I see what you mean, though. We have a hell of a lot of charities in this country and there are sometimes loads of different ones for the same illness. I give what I can for certain charities but I'm unemployed at the moment, so I can't give a lot.

It seems strange that the club allow so many collections, though, because if there are too many, people will get fed up with it and won't give to some really good causes. If there are collections at every home game, we'll all get charity fatigue.

Thought exactly the same last night. Theres not a game goes by without some sort of collection.

I always give to soldiers, and did so last night, but I dont like the personal approach and putting people under pressure. Thats wrong. They should just stand there and shake the bucket and if people want to give they give.

Most of my spare cash went to Ladbrokes on a couple of football bets,

On reflection, i would have been better off throwing it into them buckets..

My 1st and last on him :old:

Crap odds 4/1, 9/2 anyway. When hes only scoring 1 in 14, he should be at least 30/1 to get the 1st!!!!
