It's still on, why the despondency

Wed Mar 14, 2012 2:17 am

Southampton, Reading and West Ham are fighting for the 2 auto's, that's plain, but there are 3 (THREE) points between the next 6 clubs, that's 3 positions between 6 clubs (50% chance). There are 10 games left, who here laughed at those gif's of that Man City fan and are crying now with 10 games to go??

Yes, a late surge could move the likes of Leeds or Leicester into the mix, but just look at those 6 clubs.

3 teams have 11 games remaining, 3 10. The teams with 11 games 2 have 6 away and 5 home, 1 (Smogs) have only 4 home games left.

Middlesborough have to travel to Birmingham, West Ham, Ipswich, Brighton, Hull, Derby and Watford !!!! They also have to host us and Southampton.

Brighton have to travel to Blackpool, Forest, Burnley, West Ham and Barnsley, some hard ones there, they also host Middlesborough, Reading and Birmingham.

Hull travel to Palace, Leicester, Portsmouth, Millwall, Watford and west Ham and host Southampton and Middlesborough.

Birmingham travel to Portsmouth, Donny, Burnley, West Ham, Ipswich and Brighton and host amongst others, Middlesborough, us and Reading.

That leaves us and Blackpool, arguably with the easiest of run-ins of the 6, both with only 4 away games.

Blackpool only have Reading amongst the aways and at home only face Southampton, Leicester and Leeds in the top half.

We have difficult trips to Birmingham and Middlesborough and only Leeds of any note to play at home!!!

It is still there for us, so no more despondency and get behind the boys.. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The point was those around us with the exception of Blackpool have tougher run ins than us, they also have more games against top table rivals than us (hence teams around us will drop points), we only have 4 away games and 6 home games.

Everyone can see that we have a threadbare squad and that is the problem, hopefully Malky will make more use of alternative players, like Ernie, over the last 10 games and this could be the secret weapon we need.

My concern is, if we did manage to get to the play-off's, would we be ready, if we did go up, we are way behind where the gypo's were when they got promoted.

If we went up we would need major surgery to stay up thats for sure.

Errr... Because what we seen last night was appalling.

We wasn't hit on the break and lost 1-0.

We haven't scored a goal for three games.

Half the team looked slow and lethargic.

Massive lesson learnt period for Malky and us. If we play like we did early season we need to rotate, even if its a winning team.

I am not despondent, pissed off we be wasting spending big bucks on Liam Lawrence when we should be blooding our kids for next seasons campaign.

Onwards and upwards

Haven't scored a goal for 3 games? Haha, what the feck are you on? 2 quality goals in Brighton even if we kept giving away the lead. Some fans are looking for things to moan.
Don't get me wrong we've been playing shit recently, but no need for all the doom and gloom.
