IN MALKY WE TRUST.......? Do we really......?

Tue Mar 13, 2012 11:29 am

"In Malky we trust", I wondered how long it would take before City fans question his ability to run our team. Its quite obvious that in Malky we dont trust of late, just 7 months into his job we are back at questioning the managers trust in Miller, Earnie, his formation, team selection, no plan B, lack of signings, signing the wrong type of player and being far too fussy who he wants to bring in. I understand its the nature of the beast that fans seem to know more than the manager but why do we go under this pretense of "In Malky we trust" and at the same time doubt him. That is not trust in my eyes, with Malkys budget and the type of players at his disposal I trust Malkys ability to run our team affairs 100%.

Had us down as a mid table team, from the start of the season. The fact that we have spent most of the time in the top 6 is well above what i expected. His style is different to what we've been used to, but with a bit of tweaking ( a goalscoring striker in on loan) it could end up being successful. :ayatollah:

We have needed a goal scoring striker for 2months what does that say

I totally agree with you mate. He's the best thing to happen to this club for a long long time. One little drop in form and the knives are out!
I'll back him whether we end up 2nd or 16th this season. The problem is people seem to expect perfection, malky is still a very young manager and has showed wisdom beyond his years so far during his reign here :ayatollah:

I would suggest that we needed another "proven" striker since the start of the season particularly if the manager always had in the back of his mind that Earnie was not going to get a bit of a run in the team. He was not Malky's signing.

People will say, well how did he know, the fact is Earnie did ok in the LIMITED time that he was given and his strike rate is higher than that of Miller and Rudy. I can understand that he did not fit into the formation but recently you cannot say that Rudy or Miller have been setting the place alight with goals. He deserved his chance but to date that has not happened. Neither Rudy or Joe Mason were "proven" goal scorers so we always needed that bit of re assurance that there was a striker there who would contribute 15-20 goals per season. We then missed a trick in the January transfer window. I think that has contributed to our recent downturn in results. You need to score goals to win matches. we have not done that recently except for the Posh game.

It would be very difficult for a striker to come in at this late stage and fit into a team. With the pressure on to score more goals, keep clean sheets and fight for very point, pressure will mount. Lets hope that Miller finds his form again (which I think he will) and some of the midfielders contribute with a few goals. Gunarrsson and Cowie are well overdue and its a shame that Conway has been forgotten about because he started scoring goals. :ayatollah:

I trust him. I think the players have a duty to justify his faith in them by taking us to the play-off final at least.

We'll see.................

See what I mean, in his first season with a massive rebuild job this is what our fans are like. It's laughable.

I don't think that's laughable, I think it's achievable. Why don't you, given that we've been up there for so long this season?

I rest in the knowledge that he is maticulous in his management, he has the complete respect of the dressing room, which can't be said for most previous. He has brought new ideas, new structure and at the end of the day, putting little negatives such as earnie and signings etc aside, the team are unreconisable to the one from last season...and the in a positive way.

So yeh, in Malky I COMPLETELY trust.

How about we sack Malky and put the most prolific player on Football Manager in charge seeing as they all seem to think its so easy to make signings and over see the team training, pick the right squad and formation against the right teams, study teams, negotiate players contracts, negotiate with clubs about whos willing to join us, stand in the dug out and order the team to victory, know the best backroom staff available.......etc etc

We have had signings in January turned down by a Chairman of Brighton, a transfer of a player gazumped last minute to go to a PREMIERSHIP team and a club turned down an enquiry of a player because they rate him too highly.

We have played 4-5-1/4-3-3/4-4-2 when the game conditions have been right and the formation has always been right EXCEPT for 4-4-2 with everybodys "Super Player" Robert Earnshaw.

We have rehauled the entire backroom staff and now have the inclusion of Sport Science which is helping our players fitness.

We brought in 10 players in the summer.....10!!! And that isn't enough apparently!!

We have scouts which actually look at players and analyse wether they are good enough or not for the team. Who would rather see that scrapped and have half arsed players like JLS and Quincy Owusu Abeyie?

Why would anybody doubt a manager who has turned this club on its head, re worked all its interiors and got us moving forward in a positive manner?

It says Malky is doing an unbelievable job at Cardiff with what he's got at the moment! Not even YOU can doubt that, ;)

Malky is the man, He just needs the backing. Lets hope he gets a proper seeing to in the Summer - regardless of our season's finale!
