FOR LUCA 24TH JUNE 2012....

Hi everyone, I am looking for some assistance from you all if I may? Below is a link for those of you on Facebook to a page about a very very brave young man, Luca Williams. I have cut and pasted some of the words from that page which should more than explain the situation.

Luca is a beautiful 3 year old who was struck down with Meningococcal Septicaemia in early January and his life changed forever…This horrendous disease ravaged every part of his body in hours and left him fighting for his life! With less than a 3% chance of survival Luca pulled through however he was not unscathed…
Luca lost both of his legs and all of his tissue, some muscle and skin below his hips. He has massive skin and tissue and muscle loss across his arms and shoulders and is now fighting to save his knees which have been severely damaged.

We will be raising funds to cover the huge costs of equipment and prosthetics giving Luca every chance to excel in every aspect of his future.
To that end I am working with some other local people, one of which is Jeff Eckhardt, to raise funds for Luca at a charity football match on the 24th June at Whiteheads Sports Club in Bassaleg nr Newport. There will be various ex players in attendance and really hope that as many City fan as possible will turn up and pay a small amount to see past stars in action but more importantly raise money to help Luca. I dont as yet know all of the details but I believe there will be a BBQ and Disco that evening. If someone could make this a sticky it would be very much appreciated and I can then keep the thread updated as to our progress.

Simon i would have loved to attend and support this event but i fly to Cyprus at 7am on that morning.I wish you all the best with it and i am sure my friends from here will make up for my absence.

seen all the pics that you have posted today on facebook showing some of the support for Luca with the Hands Up For Luca to raise awareness. brilliant that so many people are supporting the cause.
i also noticed that Luca was due an operation today and i hope that all went well.

My youngest is nearly 3 I just cannot comprehend what this little boy and his family have gone and are going through.
