Something essential Missing?

Mon Mar 12, 2012 8:44 pm

Feeling pessimistic (probably due to my sixth day with a savage cold) but i can't rouse myself into feeling optimistic about our chances of promotion. I just feel that there's something essential lacking in our team that can most often be found in successful contenders for winning the big prizes. We seem to lack that arrogance and swashbuckling confidence especially up front that confident contenders in the past have possessed in abundance.

Those of us who have to be content with listening to the closing minutes of a game that we are winning by the odd goal rarely lay back arrogantly knowing that our defence will suffocate any attempt to draw the game. The opposite is true and we tremble until the final whistle. At the moment it's all hard work and sweat and young lads doing the jobs of seasoned pros. Can't be helped I suppose but we are going to need more than our share of good luck to be where we want to be,

I feel another sneeze coming on.

Sorry to hear your not well Cal, I honestly believe if we had strengthened upfront and had a quality striker in reserve or even used Earnie as sub now and again, we would be at least in top 4. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

What everyone needs to remind themselves is that Malky is young and still learning, he has done an amazing job so far, but he will make mistakes, even Alex Ferguson does. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I've always agreed with you Annis, especially since you promised to send me money!

Seriously though, as I'm the chairman of the outer circle club I'm allowed to know nothing, i agree fully with your assessment of the current situation. I don't know who's responsible for the set up and information from inside the club is now rarer than hen's teeth, but I doubt that Malky would be happy with the current arrangements.

Have you read Dave Jones sneering remarks about us in the 'Football League Paper? The man is a bloody disgrace to management. He is to blame for nothing that was bad and responsible for lifting our shabby little club out of the muck.

I'm going to drown a virus with some Brandy now-----

alex ferguson can afford to make mistakes if he does he normally changes the team to get out of it malky aint in that position, regarding the striker position we should nt be in a position in which our main striker is miss firing so badly, malkys has said its the emergence of gestede and mason which has kept earnie on the sidelines,i just know its more to it because i know for a fact malky totally blanks earnie and doesnt speak a word to him
