Has Malky Got The Right Connections?

Mon Mar 12, 2012 3:40 pm

All our problems getting players over the transfer window, and now the loan window. Could it be that Malky hasn't quite got the right connections or pulling power to attract quality players to us?
He has worked miracles for us this season with what he's had to work with. But we need to keep up the momentum. Yet even with money available we don't seem tobe attracting players in.
I understand Malky has his criteria for players to fit into, but I think the problem is far deeper.

He got Tom Cleverly on loan and it has been stated how SAF was delighted with how he was treated and how his progress was tracked while he was at Watford.

I honestly think MM is still looking at player development this season, Turner, Ralls, Kiss, Gestede, Mason, Gunnarson will be better players next season. Why get promoted now and do a Derby when you can get promoted next season and do a Stoke?

I guess all the managers in this league say that "why get promoted now and do a derby"

Relevance? We have a very young team through experience, our manager and the overall age of our players (take Miller out and the average age drops massively based on last year). If you'd prefer to get promoted by fluke and get stuffed week in and week out because the team weren't ready for it that's fine, but call a spade a spade.

It's funny the people on this board who criticise Malky and the team but yet want promotion, because somehow, even with the influx of cash, they'd be able to cut it in the Prem (wtf?).

We did bid for 3 young players. We missed all three. I dont think the OP is blaming malky. He's just stating that our transfer policies need to be improved.
