The average number of points needed to reach the play-off based on the last 5 season (06/07-10/11) is 72.8. So lets call it 73. But as this season's championship is a very tight one at the top, I think it'll be 75-77 points needed.
We're on 57 at the moment, so that would mean we need at least another 18 points to reach 6th place.
Our remaining games are:
Hull (H)
Burnley (H)
Coventry (H)
Birmingham (A)
Millwall (H)
Middlesbrough (A)
Watford (H)
Barnsley (A)
Derby (H)
Leeds (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
7 Home games, 4 away games. And one of them is Barnsley.
I think we're more than capable of getting at least 20 points from these games. As long as we use some other players. Like Conway for his width, crossing and his freshness. Kiss who is energetic, fresh and up for it. McPhail when he's available. And Earnie, stick him on the bench and bring him on for Miller at about 75 minutes and he'll likely pop up with a goal.
All of this, combined with good support from the terraces will give us a chance in the lottery of the play-offs. We need to make sure the CCS is never as quiet as it was against West Ham. EVER!
So here's to a good rest of the season and hopefully Premiership football next season. And if not we'll just have to ''dust ourselves down ready for next year''
